I really find it strange that they are ignoring Cher - they are supposed to be targeting the younger audience. I don't like that they ignore Matt but at least I accept that he appeals to an older audience. I went to a concert in November where Cher was on the bill and she had an amazing reception and loads of teenagers (R1 target audience?) had "Cher" written on their faces. It's as though they have decided that they want some acts to disappear.

She might get airplay on Capital.

Yeah she is getting played on Capital, and The Hits Radio. But Radio 1 are powerful as well, it'd be nice if they could add her soon.

To me radio play seems like a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy. If a song (or artist) isn't too popular then they probably won't get much airplay, and yet that very airplay could make them more successful/popular.

Rebecca was on MTV Music channel last night for 2 hours. It was recorded a few months ago and was plugging Nothings Real But Love rather than the new single.

Starlight received 0 spins last week so we can assume that they threw the song out there a few weeks ago just in case it stuck, but there is no plan for a US or Canadian release at the moment.

If it is any consolation Capital and sister stations are not playing 1D and I am sure that is because the same company own The Wanted They are happy to have 1D news all over their home page though
