In the singles midweeks, Rihanna is catching up Olly, and it could be that for the third week in a row, she overtakes the X Factor alun and ends up at #1 in the final charts!

She is just a BEAST at the minute! Clocking up 89k in album sales already this week, and STILL on the coat tails on the singles chart in it's EIGHTH week is pretty astonishing and will be amazing if she manages the double come the weekend!

I dont think Will is Charting with Come on - its not even top 100 on itunes...

However it does seem to be helping his album sales more - which is the main thing really

Why are so many people buying Now 80

Gosh Rihanna is owning the charts this year And Talk That Talk isn't her best album imo, Rated R is miles better!

I'm shocked at the NOW sales - especially as you can cherry pick songs from Itunes instead of buying whole albums worth - its weird tbh

Might be physicals? I know my daughter wants it for Christmas and actual albums are better stocking fillers than a download?

The Music Week report states One Direction are 13,000 behind Rihanna now, increasing the gap massively. So unless Rebecca Ferguson can do it which she well might or there is a MASSIVE rally by One Direction fans, it looks like none of the 2010 class will have a number 1 album which is quite surprising and I wonder what odds you would have got on it. One Direction are unfortunate to be releasing against an artist at the top of their game as clearly any other week they would have been number 1 but so could Matt on a different week so.

From the report you can work out the sales:

States Now 80 is on 134,000 sales, 45,000 ahead of Rihanna so means
Rihanna is on 89k
One Direction are 13,000 behind Rihanna so are on 76,000

Rihanna has sold another 31,000
One Direction just another 24,000 so slowing down already but both on course for well over 100k which definitely shouldn't be sniffed at in this market!
Thanks Nicola for that info .

It would be ironic if all the X Factor acts are buying Now 80 for the singles

That's great news for Matt's airplay to boost the album hopefully. Good for Will too. Thanks Chi.

Not that they'll be at all bothered the way their album is selling, but 1D's single is really dropping like a stone.

Does anyone know where Will Youngs album is in the midweeks? I really hope Rebeccas album goes Top 10.

I suppose it's good value as you get 22 songs for £10.

I, and a lot of posters, can't understand why they chose that as their second single. It is the weakest on the album

I am shocked that Olly has managed to hold Rhianna off when JLS and One Direction did not. Good for him though he has exceeded my expectations.

It looks to be another slow week for singles sales, apparently Olly has currently sold less than 50k. Not sure where that puts Rebecca though.
