I saw JLS in Cardiff on Tuesday - I am pretty neutral about them as a group and was only there because my daughter wanted to see them. Having seen them live now, I have to say that I am not surprised that Aston gets most of the lines, he is the only one with a good voice. The concert was pretty good on the whole - usual boyband stuff and tbf they danced really well and put on a whole performance. But the music was backing tracks and when they were flying around the stage they were miming the song.

I have never been a fan of miming at live concerts but I am coming round to the view if they are doing heavy dance routines the vocals are going to suffer. They are not trained like musical theatre actors who can sing dance and act so i think I now forgive that . I would still be cross though at live acts miming if they are not doing heavy dance routines

My main issue was the use of backing tracks rather than a live band and not because of the "credibility" thing. It's just that the sound quality was really poor and for me there just seems to be so much less buzz created by a backing track. I do understand why they mimed as they flew and I am pretty forgiving on that point. As I said, on the whole the concert were pretty good in that it was what I expected from a boyband concert. My daughter and her friend loved it - and it was for them that tickets were bought.

They didn't have a live band? Surprised really.

Has Marcus' album dropped out of the top40 already???!!!??

Yes, after two weeks And it looks like his single might drop out of the top 40 too by Sunday. Ouch.

He needs to get another single out quick...

As of last Sunday he had only sold 30K copies and now he has dropped like a stone out of the top40. This must be an all time low for an XF runner-up

While I am not happy about it (he seems such a lovely lad) I can't say I m surprised about Marcus. I wished they had waited and produced something more distinctive. Also, I hope it stops the runner up always does better theory.

Mary Byrne's 2nd album hasn't done too bad for a fifth placed contestant from 2010 who has done literally zero promotion in the UK.
