Sometimes things go too far and you have to completely cut family members out for one reason or another (extreme behaviour) and as much as i dislike Jem i just feel that they need to resolve this situation.

Jem does not have to like Aaron like you or I but if she is good sister and loves her sister the way she says she does then she will need to tolerate him. I think the last straw should be never speaking again. I also agree that Jem need to STFU now and stop alienating herself.”

I agree. Thank you for posting what I wanted to say

How come she is talking of paying off student loansThere are no loans for BTEC 16-18 yr old.Is she really 19? I thought that was a wrestling age?

I know, they used to ban that kind of thing. His body language was enough to show how surprised/angry/bewildered he was

she is talking about paying off student debts from what I saw - which is not the same as student loans. she is 20 according to what she said in the house when Aaron asked her how old she is. but then again in the mag interview aaron is quoted as saying "I don't see her as 19" - so re her age I have no idea.

All these TV appearances and visiting parents is what is getting Jem worked up.She cant believe Faye is getting all the attention.

BTEC, national diploma requires 5 GCSE grades(A-C) to enroll. Does not equate to A'levels' passes, and is more consistent with going on to complete ONC or a HND.

When I was at uni (which admitted is a few years ago) a national diploma was equivalent to A'levels and HND was between A'levels and a degree I know cos I did a HND when I messed up my A'levels (but we won't go there I got over it and moved on ). I guess things change.

However, I presume we can agree that faye did not study for and does not have a degree.

You can go to University via BTEC.My daughter's 3 friends are currently at Luton and Kingston and it was through 2yrs and 3yrs BTEC.

She is not even old enough to be paying back student loans of the graduate age. You can get grants and bursarys throughout college in certain circumstances, eg. scholorships etc.

sorry but it is not the same. Debts (general) are different to Loans which are specific. She may have incurred debts whilst she was at uni that had nothing to do with course fees or loans but were just about general living expenses or general excesses cos she was out partying every night without an income to back it up.

There are no students debts or loans unless you have been to University.

Speaking Of Faye's age. Faye replied to someone on twitter yesterday about not being on FB. If you read this persons previous tweets she says Faye is 22 and she was in her year at school. Not sure how reliable this person is though

I did not say you couldn't. Mre likely to be doing a HND rather than a degree though? You can go to uni with nothing, via academic qualifications,as a mature student, I should know.

Whether debts or loans, they include tution fees and living expenses. Those are the papers I have been signing since 2009.My daughter is 3rd year at Bedfordshire.I am on illhealth retirement so she has a grant as well. The living expenses loan or debt is means tested not the tution fees.

of course you can get into debt as a student choose as what you are studying or where you are studying it. Faye talks about student debts. That can be very wide ranging imho.

Unis do all sorts of courses nowadays not just degrees. therefore faye could have gone to uni to do her BTEC course and incurred all sorts of debts as a result.

I am talking of 18yr old girls who went in 2009 and 2010 thru BTEC.

I think Faye is 22 as well. I never understood the whole age issue thing in the house. But i believe she is defo older than 20 and did go to uni, thus making 22 her age. Plus i remember that she was 6 yrs younger than Jem and Jem is 28.
Anyway out of topic... Why is this conversation not on Faye's thread instead? I think it goes better there, plus it could help her get to a part 2...

Whatever the course,if it was in a university, she is university educated and knows about university life.I never said she has a degree. HND's are likely to be in a university rather than BETC.

no debts are debts - they aren't always about tuition or living expenses. She could have just opened a student account and used her full overdraft and beyond on partying every night. those are debts. they don't have to be specific. they still need to be paid off.

However clearly we are approaching this from different angles in that you are talking specifics and I am talking general so I will choose not to discuss it any further.

We appear to have stumbled into a quite detailed debate on further/higher education and it's merits and funding.....

Does everyone remember that one of the reasons Aaron and co walked out the stranded task was because of Jem's real age being revealed and Faye was 20 on her VT but there was talk around the stranded task of her being 22......so this age issue was discussed during the show. If she is 20 her student loans wouldn't be from a degree and maybe another type of loan for a different course.
