Don't know if anyone has read Docman's thread called Analyse the Winners, but he posted a great bit on Aaron. Very insightful.
Aaron (BB12): Clearly, the only time in BB history when the winner deserved to win on all fronts. In many ways, he is the perfect personification of the very best of BB housemates. He had the general decency of Pete, the camp wit of Brian, the attractive anti-heroics and exclusion but fascination with by the others of Alex, the series narrative centrality and strategic mastery of Rex and the male version of the sexual magnetism of Noirin. Additional factors in his favour was his difference from all the other housemates, making him a star by default and being simply the facially and classically best looking male housemate of all time. The reasons for Aaron’s victory are as complex as the man himself and this is why his win was so right. Whatever the issues of the size of his fanbase and haters, the public at large took a look and recognised that without him, BB12 would have been a wash out and there simply was nobody else who deserved to win.
The fact that people were surprised by his win is simply because people saw something of Jade and Helen in Alex which misled them in to thinking she was going to win. I would not say Aaron was the best housemate ever but he is certainly the most perfect housemate. Which might be a fine distinction but I know what I am getting at. Not a perfect human being but seemingly genetically programmed to make good TV.
