Apparantly this is only for customers using the 900mhz 2g networks. Everyone else seems to be fine which is why not everyone is reporting this issue.

Three uses 2100mhz for 3g, and orange 1800mhz 2g i believe so those users should be fine. I just hope the rest are sorted out soon.

Samsung UK have posted on Facebook:

"Regarding the Galaxy Nexus, we are aware of the volume issue and have developed a fix. We will update devices as soon as possible."

They've also released an AD for the Nexus.

It feels more solid than the GS2
The screen is way better than the GS2 - MUCH sharper based on side by side comparison
Internet is lightening quick

you may have to put up with a few bugs but thats the 'fun' of being an early adopter and at least with a Nexus you know you will be the first to get fixes (XDA are already rolling out new features as it has a significant developer following already !)

Best thing to do is to go into a store and compare

I'm happy to stick with the HTC Sensation for now. It mainly came down to the fact that the Sensation felt more solid and gave me more confidence in my pocket and it was a nice enough shape and size. Although not hugely smaller than the Nexus it was noticeably smaller and certainly better shaped.

The camera on the Sensation takes much better photos and videos too, although not as quick sadly.

I have GoLauncherEX running on my Sensation which I had running on my Nexus before I sold it. So it wasn't a case of Sense outdoing raw Android, I don't use it any more.

I'll be honest, I'm missing bits of the Nexus while using my Sensation though. I'm REALLY missing the browser on the Nexus. It was fantastic. I'm also missing the recent apps menu, that was very slick and impressive.

Here's waiting for the XDA lot to hurry up and release a bare bones ICS ROM asap for the Sensation. I'll be rooting at that point and installing

I'm sure many of you will love the new Nexus, but for me the physical dimensions and hardware let down the OS. As I said before, the OS in the Sensation hardware would make the perfect handset for me.

I though it had the older Super Amoled so whilst higher resolution it would be actually less detailed at times.

So you got rid of it because it had a big screen and it didn't feel right, almost no reason at all for most people then. How strange.

What I read was that under certain circumstances it becomes lower resolution.

However with the extra resolution anyway, I'm now siding with it being better overall, at least until a similar AMOLED Plus arrives.

well i have now got an ip4s from the galaxy nexus and dont miss it ,i dont care what anybody says the retina screen is the best screen ever, i honestly thought wow 720p screen but it didnt do anything for me for me the sg2 screen was slightly better imo, but i must admit i do miss the big screen hopefully the ip5 will have a 4 inch screen the sweetspot imo

Completely disagree. Ive always found the retina screen to be while sharp, dull, lifeless and far to small to surf properly on.

Its one of the reasons i got shot of my iphone 4.

The problem was that my Sensation, bought a few days before I got the Nexus, just grew on me. The Nexus wasn't even close to the Sensation for me.

ICS was the main draw for me, I'll wait for a ROM to appear and install that.

I think the GN screen is the best out there, others will disagree. Personally ive banned Apple products from my house (the kids hate me for it), not because of some fanboy argument but because i dont approve of their corporate approach... but hey, thats my subjective opinion.

Im sure those who have iPhone 4s will love it.
Im sure those who have GSII will love it.
Im sure those who have GN will love it too (I love mine)

The GREAT thing at the moment for us consumers is that there is so much choice, and that competition is driving the companies to innovate ..... unless Apple manages to sue everyone involved - part of the reason for my dislike

The one thing that bugs me on forums is when people indicate that because they didnt like something it must be rubbish. Thats really not the case .... If it were we would all be driving the same cars, wearing the same clothes and eating the same things ....

ALL of the above phones are very good. Which is 'best' is just personal preference.

It does become a little draining at times, and doesn't really do the arguer any favours. I've seen the iPhone described as all many of derogatory things by Android users yet even as a big Android fan myself, I can't agree with them. The iPhone is not a shit phone, and I truly believe that anyone who states it is is either deceiving us or themselves. I don't like Apple as a company for probably much the same reasons as Stuart_h, I don't like Apple's restrictive customisation opportunities and walled garden approach, I don't like the way Apple describe the most banal of things as "magical" or "revolutionary", and I don't like the relative lack of choice when it comes to decent iOS devices. However, despite all of these things, I can see the iPhone as the quality device that it is - better crafted than most other phones, a smoother experience than many other phones, and for the time being a better average quality of app than any other phone. I can't imagine ever buying an iPhone (and, on topic, I have just shelled out on a Galaxy Nexus which will last me quite some time) but it would be silly of me to claim that the iPhone is a shit device.

Where else would you get fans queuing to buy a product just because its made by a specific company ??? I prefer to shop around and get the product i like best !!!

They do make good products. The iphone isnt the best phone in my opinion but if you have shopped around and decided is the best phone for your purposes then fine. Just dont buy the iphone simply because its made by apple. If you do that you arent buying a phone you are just buying into a (very expensive) marketing campaign !?

Traded in my GS2 and added £65 to it and brought my mates almost brand new 2 day old Galaxy Nexus (collecting it at 6pm) so got a good deal I reckon.
