I haven't heard of it either Although I do know both "R-E-S-P-E-C-T" and "I say a little prayer" and I'm only 16. Still, I think she doesn't deserve all the criticism she's been getting. She's done a good job mentoring Little Mix.

That's the point, where do people here think that modern R&B comes from?

Aretha is the inspiration for so many modern R&B artists, she is required listening. Not knowing 'Think' undermines some of the 'roots' comments Tulisa has made earlier inlcuding the decision to send home some artists.

In her favour though she has done a good job with Little Mix.
It simply cements the absurdity that oozes out of her. This is pretty much the standard of competence I have seen from her. And I think Little Mix do well more in spite of her then due to her.

She could be better for her acts if she left them to go to the states like a miss rowland did i guess
Now thats a disgrace of a judge

Tulisa just annoys me. She works in the music industry and keeps mentioning something called a "ballid"? What is that, anyone know? Why hasn't anyone corrected her, either?

Music started in 2008 obviously.
Clearly. I wonder how many other people Tulisa's age (23) have heard the original versions of some songs ?

Just because you work in the music industry it doesn't automatically mean you know everything about everything.

I'm sure if you spoke to some twenty somethings and asked them to name a Jimi Hendrix song or an Aretha Franklin song then a good portion of them would say "Who ?".

Satan himself could not ruin the delicousness of seeing her yet again being HER all over the place. Her divilicousness becomes more epic with each passing week. The silent mike on her CIN was amazing. I briefly try to remember that a pathological hatred of a "person" on tv is not healthy but then goes and does something so inbred like tonight and it all becomes too much fun to give up.

Sorry didn't mean to confuse.com you. Last night on Children In Need (CIN) she was with Miss Dynamite and a bunch of ohers performing and her mic was the only one that was no working. She kept singing unaware that she was on silent Even in the cut away from her no one came on with a mic that actually worked. And when Wogan interviewed her the mic was still silent. TV gold babycakes

Ohhh thanks for decipher, im a bit dissapointed to be honest I thought more of a cloak and dagger explanation
Instead it involves Wogan of all people the wigged wonder
And a dodgy mic
I guess Tulisa is keeping us waiting to hear the vocals when she releases her solo album soon She doesnt miss a trick that one

I'm near Tulisa's age and I've never heard of it either, didn't realise you have to have heard of everything song ever made to be able to have to have an opinion.
You would that if she was taking her job seriously she would have done some research into all the songs on the show so she wouldn't look like an idiot - I know I would. Hardly surprising though, like Cheryl before her, she is only on the show as eye candy and to attract younger viewers ...

It's a classic. A motown classic. For a mentor to say that it wasn't a well known song is just plain dumb.
A classic it may be. But not a Motown classic. It's an "Atlantic Records" classic

I'd never heard of Tulisa, but I think she's a pretty decent judge. I know Think as i'm a big soul fan. Saying she's not fit to judge on the show is purile, she's there to judge the performance and decide whether person A or person B can make it as a recording artist, it's not like Stars in Their Eyes which is meant to be true to the original. It's like saying Gary Neville can't talk about football because he doesn't know the intricacies of Carlos Alberto's goal vs Italy in the 1970 World Cup

Totally agree. I think if anyone actually thinks she was hired for her musical knowledge, is way off the mark. X Factor is an entertainment show now, nothing more.

I like Tulisa as a judge and I think she has put a lot of effort into her category.
As least she is genuine and honest and is prepared to admit she didn't know the song. So what! There are probably plenty of major artists in Tulisa's genre of music that some people would struggle to name major tracks from.

I have also always liked Gary Barlow as a judge but for the first time he annoyed me last night ...it seems nobody is able to criticise his acts ...I notice Kelly was going to add constructive criticism on Craig and then she shied away from doing it. How boring is that.
Gary seems to forget that he criticised the song choices of Sami, Johnny, Sophie on previous shows ...and indirectly he did it last night too when he said Mischa would never have sung Whitney a few weeks ago.

I agree with so many comments. It's like being a writer but not having heard of Jane Austen or the Bronte sisters.
