I can't believed you've uttered those words. SCD Secret Service will soon come and remove you from this planet!

Chris Hollins's 40 I think was the point at which the dancing started its final decline to becoming optional.

There's some of the best on youtube (not Zoe's)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpWoS...feature=relmfu
R and V Tango

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVxxG...eature=related
jill Jive

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtg--...eature=related
R+V Rumba.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xo_hYHVY7RY
Kara Rumba

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_A6Wzg_nWdw
R= V Argentine Tango

The best marked dances are near the bottom of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strictly_Come_Dancing

There's some imposters but most of the best ones are there.

If this series was being conducted like the earlier series or they had been allowed to do as little dancing I think an Ali Bastian or even Louisa Lytton would be doing very very well this series.

Mark Ramperkash's Samba (karen in yellow dress not the white one)
Jill's Jive - any version

Kara would be no better as a judge, but I think she was a much better dancer than Alesha. Alesha's Latin technique was often quite poor.

Oh - so the judges knew what they were talking about before, did they? Did they heck - and if you want proof, I refer you to Exhibit A in the Strictly Crime Corner: Snowdonia ...

As for this series: yes, there hasn't been a single stand-out dance for me yet and I would rather watch the following:

Alesha & Matthew's Cha Cha Cha and Viennese Waltz
Gethin & Camilla's Jive and Waltz
Chris & Ola's Charleston
Tom & Camilla's Foxtrot and Showdance
Kara & Artem's American Smooth and Rumba
Cherie & James' Rumba
Jade & Ian's Samba
Pamela & James' Rumba
Mark & Karen's AT
Austin & Erin's Jive and Paso Doble

And, at the rate things are going, YouTube is going to be much preferable source of watching SCD. At least there are no appalling comedy sketches and staged 'standing ovations' on most of the above ...

Kara and Artem's rumba - I watched it the other day for the very reason the OP mentions (I am so chuffing BORED with this year's efforts) - and it literally made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and made me teary.

Also Kara and Artem's AT. Rachel and Vincent's AT and rumba, Ricky and Natalie's AT.... (guess what my favourite dance is )

I have the DVD of the tour at the O2 arena when Gethin danced with Flavia. They dance a waltz that is so beautiful it makes you melt. Can't remember the title of the music but it starts of with "If I were a picture painted on canvas".
I also have recordings of all the dances of Mark and Karen and love them all.

You are right about the title of the music - it was "If I were a Picture" and indeed was beautiful. I was there at the NEC. Gethin won the glitterball that night!

I'm really looking forward to working my way through all your recommendations - there's plenty of time until the Final!

May I throw into the mix, the Champions Dance from series 6?

the whole production at Wembley was awful and if they do it again I am quitting

really made me feel queasy with the camera zooming in and out, up and down and swirling around the dance floor, combined with the terrible echo on the sound and far too many flashing lights

it was the worst night I can remember on SCD and I will be writing to complain. None of the dances were in any way remarkable or memorable (apart from Russells' comedy act) and the way I feel now it is going to take something really good to win me back.
