If we believe some of the comments on this forum, Janet is supposed to fill this role but to my mind she (and Little Mix) are the only ones trying to vary what they do. Little Mix are progressing steadily thanks to Tulisa and Janet is brave enough to listen to the judges and experiment even if it sometimes doesn't pay off.
For me the one-trick-ponies are Craig, Misha, Amelia and Marcus. They are all excellent singers but they just recycle the same performance every week.”
Misha in two respects.
Same sob story every week, same singing performance every week.

Marcus performance tonight was very different to the previous two weeks, but because it is still old school people call it the same performance ”
He has changed up every week unlike some of the contestants and people were saying about week 4 or 5 that Marcus was the most verstaile act in the competition and I think he still is.
I also dont think that he is just a entertainer I think he has a brilliant voice and even though people didnt like his performance I really think that his performance in week 2 was understated I really liked it. i
I cant wait for the next week when Marcus sings a ballad if he still in the competition which I think he will be

No variety, no style and cannot dance.”
How was Misha's Rolling in the Deep performance the same as Born this Way. How was Rolling Down the River the same vocal or performance as I Have Nothing. Stop seeing what you want to see you just sound deluded. To say Misha has no variety you are just trolling.
Misha is anything BUT a one trick pony. Of the remaining contestants, she has, to me, given the most diverse set of performances this season to date.
In the case of Janet...if she's able to string together performances like last night where she chooses the right song and connects with it, I don't see her being a one trick pony as a disadvantage.
Depends on definition of one trick pony - if you have a distinctive style (like Janet), no matter what song you sing, it will be recognisable and therefore sound "the same" to some people. I thought the same about Rebecca Ferguson. But that's not a bad thing.
Or maybe it means lack of performance. That might matter on stage, but won't matter for a recording contract.

If you think Amelia is a one trick pony then I've got two questions for you.
1. Have you been watching a different Amelia to the rest of us?
2. Why isn't she an option in your poll?
Janet. Give her due, she's tried other styles etc, but it has been an epic fail each time. She needs to stick to what she knows she can do and not move away from that because it just doesn't work. Surely that is the absolute definition of a 'one trick pony'?
I expect next year's pictorial version of the Oxford English Dictionary to be updated to include under the definition of "One Trick Pony" a picture of a certain Northern Irish girl from County Tyrone.

I think that just shows your small mindedness. I was well aware that people might choose Janet. I was genuinely interested in the result.
I'm sorry I forget about Amelia though. It's difficult to know whether she is or not as she hasn't been here very long. Athe the moment she is the new-trick-pony.
