I suspect he got what he wanted - to do a trial. He doesn't want to fade into the background and has got more airtime with his ' being honest ' strategy.

See?

I could tell when he was in the cave that first night.

I can't remember where he said it, I'm just talking abut both instances as a collective. If the second instance came from a specifically posed question to try and get a certain type of answer from him the words still came out of his mouth quite willingly. He could easily just not answer a qustion or answer it in a different way but he didn't, it came out the way it did.

As seperate, with the teddy thing with Lorraine today, very odd of him (and kind of her too). Both odd moments but Lorraine is still prob a better person.

But if he was deliberately playing a game he had to be consistent...ie he had to be the bad guy for most of the day..whatever the situation.

oh right, but I don't really know if he is playing a game or if that's just him. And if he needed to be consistent then why was the mean streak not done from the start and only just emerged from roundabout now.

the problem with pat is that he isn't funny. his 'jokes' about the girls went on too long. his 'jokes' about tedward went on too long. disguising something pervy or unkind as 'only joking' doesn't work.
he is just coming across as very unpleasant. clearly he's annoyed that he and sinitta both came in late yet she is getting all the attention. bit envious, i think.

Im not so sure he is envious, I honestly just think he's fed up with the way Siniita has been making a big song & dance with the trials she has had to endure and the way she has acted in front of the cameras amongst other things.

I would think that when this is all over we are going to find out that they were all in it together to try and free Sinitta from the daily trial and hopefully to get some food. This would explain Chrissy's strange tears at Tedward's supposed fate. I have to remind myself from time to time that these people act for a living and it is second nature to them to act up for the cameras.

I have a sneaky suspicion that he wanted her to fail just so when they got to the camp he could tell them all that she was the one that messed it up for them.

I agree...there's several bona fide actors, Mark Wright who knows how "reality" works, people like Willie/Pat who are pretty media experienced/savvy.

If ever a bunch were equipped to pull off a "manipulation" (with or without the producers being aware of it)...it's them.

And TBH if they did start to get suspicious...what could the producers do to stop it...they'd just all sit in silence

Ok so he might not have had to tell her about the bugs but if he hadn't and she had found one crawling on her she more than likely would have flipped out. If she is truly as afraid as she 'appears ' to be her senses would have been massively heightened and if ANYTHING had touched her skin she more than likely would have lost the plot and him having not told her would have made her pretty impossible to calm down given that she wouldn't have trusted him. Forewarned is forearmed.

Also the perving on the young two, my husband and I are happily married but he still stops what he is doing so he can give his whole attention to them having a shower lol and in all honesty if there were anything male worth watching shower i'd do the same! You can call it perving but i just think it's human nature.

No need to pity me. We just have a difference of opinion. I am sure part of his dastardly plan was to get the trial....but I am sure he wasn't acting completely out of character.

I think he will breeze through the trial which will mean the public won't vote for him again. So I assume he will go back to Mr Nice Guy as he won't have to grab the public's attention anymore.

don't like him he did come across as a nice person when he came in but know he seems to me he as a nasty side to him

I do find it a little bit odd that lots of people are being just as honest and judgmental about Pat (with a dash of name calling too), because they have a problem with Pat being honest and judgmental.

I'm only watching this for Pat now. At least he's doing something interesting. If you have ever watched any of the other shows he's been on you can see he's a nice guy. Yeah he does have opinions, like everyone here, but I'd rather judge his 'niceness' on his 20+ years of work rather than a few minutes of footage of him saving Sinitta from another trial.

I doubt his actions were to save Sinitta from the trial, because he felt for Sinitta. He couldn't give a monkeys about Sinitta, he wants food, which is fair enough! But you can't act like that to people and reduce someone to tears...if it isn't in you, even a little bit. I couldn't do that, for airtime or for food.

You're making it sound like he was screaming into her face about how much he hated her. What he actually did was tell Lorraine that he really likes her but she's being too nice.

If something as mild as that reduced her to tears, it says far more about her than it does about Pat.

Well, I wasn't saying he was doing it out of sympathy. But he still got her out of it and saved us from repetitive rubbish. Sometimes people don't get his humour. It's dry, cheesy and naff - always has been. And you don't have to like it. But just because someone doesn't understand it or they get upset about it doesn't automatically make it intentionally mean.

I still think it's funny how people say he's horrible yet they're calling him the insulting names. Seriously?
