I have really enjoyed Russell on the show and the way he learn to dance and have fun.It was lovely to see someone having such fun.I cried when he left and I cried on ITT and I cried reading this thread. He comes across as such a lovely man .
Loved Flavia as well she did brilliantly job and also looked liked she was having a fantastic time.

^^^ This ... definitely an example for us all ... he tried his hardest with good humour, no complaints and warmth and praise wherever it was due. He has helped make this year very special, and definitely played a huge part in developing the warm bond that links this year's dancers together.

I agree with the comments on this thread. I was one of those who didn't want him to be on the show least of all partnered with my favourite pro Flavia but now I'm so glad he was. What a wonderful contestant and partner for Flav he turned out to be....His sheer exuberance and joie de vivre - he's probably one of my favourite ever contestants now!

I'm really sad that he left on Saturday - I would have loved to see him do the slower dances ie the waltz and rumba - he would have made such a good job of those and no doubt added his own humorous twist.

I was actually at his last interview with Flav. What a lovely man.

Nothing against Russell, but what is all the fuss about being shot from a cannon? It wasn't his idea, and he had nothing to do except lie there and be lowered to the ground. The most amazing thing is the sheer expense of making the huge prop - and the amount of time taken for Russell to actually start dancing.

Russell was sheer enjoyment to watch.

Apparently their farewell interview on Monday was a new record for ITT viewers ratings!

Russell was great entertainment and a better dancer than anyone would have anticipated. Good on Flavia for choreographing to his strengths.

My two year old loves Russell - she calls him ‘shiny man’ whenever he comes on the telly in his fabulous glittery outfits, lol.

I agree with every sentiment on this thread! Russell was an absolute inspiration, and his delight and exuberance were very, very special to share in. He always tried his hardest to improve as a dancer, and he has proved himself to be gracious and good-humoured since his exit from the show. What an absolute gentleman! He will be very much missed next week.
