i am new to the forum and have been looking at 'who was your favourite' polls and the 'least favourite' ones and Craig was often at the poor end of both and i just cant understand it

if it wasnt for coming on here and seeing he wasnt too popular the i would have seen a chance for him to win

to me and the rest of my family watching he gave great performances nearly every week and was the one we looked forward to seeing

the way he built up songs and sang with passion and emotion such as his breathtaking 'jar of hearts' really impressed me and week by week he was developing into someone i could imagine buying an ablum from

cant understand why he's gone so what ar epeoples opinions and why wasnt he liked by you if that is the case?

I think the viewers got fed up of him doing the same old boring slow songs every single week, even 'dance' week wasn't really that much of a change.

Plus the fact that he isn't really a pop star, he's not a heart throb, he's not going to have girls having posters of him on their bedroom wall, he comes across like an old woman!

I can't speak for other people, but personally my problems with Craig were firstly that it was all very samey with him. You knew every week he was going to do pretty much a ballad by a female artist. And secondly, I just don't rate him that much as a singer. He was good, but imo, not good enough for the stage of the competition he got to.

Also his facial expressions. Oh God those facial expressions.

I didn't mind him, but he never stood out in any way to me. He might have been more popular last year, but this year is full of strong vocalists, so the acts need to have something extraordinary about them.

He sung and performed like someone signing for deaf people. Everything had to be exaggerated to show just how much he meant what he was singing.

It was toe-curling to watch each week, as if he'd never moved on from singing with a hairbrush infront of the mirror.

He doesn't enunciate, he sings out of the side of his mouth and he sings every song in the style of Adele even on club night.

Difficult really to answer, I think he was over hyped at the start, he has a nice voice, and seems a very nice person, but I have to agree his mouth pulling to the side the way he does is very off putting. I liked some of his performances but most of them lacked the WOW factor, mind you so have most of the other acts this year, not all but most.

I think for a young man he came across as dated and out of sync or at least most of his songs did, and he cannot blame Gary for that as he chose most of them himself. He left with dignity which was nice to see.

It was sad really his first week in the bottom and he was gone, whereas Misha has been saved twice.. I did think his sing off song was much better than his Saturday song though, as that just left me cold.

He basically looked exactly the same as his mother but with shorter hair.

And yes cringe making seeing him twist his face like he was singinging in ten octaves, not his limited range!

The industry these days is all about versatility and unfortunately this didn't cone across in craigs performances .. Although he was an amazing singer I don't think he had 'the x factor' ..

Maybe his image wasn't what voters liked. Like an assistant manager or an insurance salesman look, but not a new pop star image.

I dont think any of them have the xfactor this year imo.

He is a second rate Joe McElderry but without Joe's looks. That's saying something too, since Joe isn't my cup of tea at all.

even though he wasnt the best singer i thought he really sold his songs with the acting. his facial expressions were awesome

i dont think he had much of a personality either

The nation has gone insane with that result tonight, i'm being serious. I'm still finding it hard to believe that he got the lowest number of votes. What are people voting on? Can't be the talent.

chubby, camp, scouse, gurner repeating himself week after week

it's NOT all about the so called talent (decent voice but not special) its also about having something else and he doesn't have anything. I mean having your mum and dad in a VT? sheesh that was cheese

It's a TALENT show and having your mum and dad in a VT, that would narrow it down to about 95% of contestants in XF history!

Good but unremarkable voice and I never felt the songs were alive in him, only that he was trying to make the right facial expressions when he thought he should. Lack of involvement of the singer in the song leads to apathy and switching off in the audience, and there wouldn't be much of a market for an album of 12 songs just capably done. Nice chap with a glaring lack of the X Factor whatever it may be.

no, its called the X Factor and this fat gurner has none of that, he isn't even that remarkable at singing.

This!! This is exactly how I feel about Craig's performances! Thank you for summarising it so well.

I reckon it was one of those funhouse type mirrors too, that make you look skinny.

Nice voice, no star power. Just not good enough unfortunately. Compared to the other contestants he just wasn't appealing enough.

It's not about versatility. It's about concentrating on your genre.
