It does have quite a few apps available already on the tablet such as BBC news, Kindle, Tune in Radio etc. You just have to press the option to fully install them. There again it was really speedy. I have downloaded the 'Kobo' reader and a few free books. The screen is responsive and easy to scroll on. Using a stylus does help but you don't need it. I have yet to put any of my photos or music on the tablet but I don't envisage any problems. There is also a webcam on it and it took quite a clear picture when I tested it out.
I think the best way of describing it is that it is a giant android phone without the phone! If you treat it like that you can't really go wrong!”
Re bold. I agree. I think that is the best way of looking at it.
I've just bought a 7" chinese tablet via Amazon. I struggled reading the specs and people's reviews, trying to decide which, if any, were better than the others, before buying. In the end I gave up and pretty much bought one at random, a Tabtech on the box, but it didn't say that on the advert I ordered from (though it had better reviews than most, and the seller, Wendy Lou had good reviews). In the end I didn't know if i'd missed out on a particular feature I needed, but so far I'm pleased.
I can browse OK, I've downloaded a few games for my daughter. The resistive screen is adequate (for me). I usually use a stylus, but don't have to.
Edit. Having said that, having used this, and an ipad (to try it out to see if i wanted a tablet - we are going to get an ipad for my wife), I actually prefer using my Asus Eee 4G Surf (the small 7" tablet). I can hand hold it, fully opened flat, and either hold it in one hand typing with the other, or hold it in both hands, and type with my thumbs. The only downside is that there are a few things it cannot do at present (eg Flash 10). I think I'll have a session on the Asus forums, to see about downloading some updated software (which, as a learner, i find hard, as it's not straightforward).
