Little mix's lead on social media!!
The problem is acts like Janet and Marcus appeal more to those who don't tend to use social media and that makes up the majority of the XF audience.
That's because they are the best act left. They deserve to win, they have worked hard and it would be a first for X Factory.
Not sure social media makes that much of a difference when it comes to getting votes. Cher had a huge online following last year but in terms of votes, she was well behind Matt in the end.

To be fair that website had Amelia down for bottom 2 just before the show started based off positive/negative tweet counts.
Come off it they do look at it when they look at the other polls to see who is in the lead etc, a lot of fans do to see how there act is doing

Their followers have gone up by about 70,000 in the last two weeks though! That's quite a big jump, no?

Social Network sites are free ..voting isn't so it doesn't necessarily translate into votes and as said it all depends on the age of the person's fanbase ... those that appeal to a teenage market will probably have more fans joining social networking sites than those who have an older fanbase who don't bother with the likes of facebook
Given that it's a vote to save, it seems a bit irrelevant to factor in negative comments - you could have a million people hating your guts but, as long as you've got a million who love you, you'll be through.

If you look on the thread with the demographic poll you'll see that's not true - at least not on here anyway.
Doesn't it change every week, Marcus was probably leading a couple of weeks ago and Amelia last week

Cher had a huge following last year yet her voting percentages weren't great overall (compared to Matt, Rebecca, Mary and 1D). Also, Frankie had the most followers on Twitter at one point and he wasn't popular with the voting public.
I doubt Little Mix are topping the vote (although they may have done last week) but I think they are a certainty for the final. And once they get there, anything could happen. The hype that they are the only girlband ever to get to the final will encourage a huge amount of votes from floating voters.
