You forgot the super-flattering outfits that the female celebs have had the luck of wearing this year.

Is this sarcastic? ‘Cos I was about to chip in with a ‘Hell YEAH!!!’, but I think I misread the tone…

Oh well. The way I see it, for all it’s problems, SCD is still ten times better than anything else on at the moment. I’m a total newbie to SCD (I defected from X-Factor this year), so I can’t compare this series with previous year’s efforts, but honestly, I think that it’s great! I always look forward to new episodes, and I’m really enjoying getting to know all the contestants, the pros, the judges etc. I even (whisper it) quite like the training vts! Honestly, compared with all the blatant manipulation and ego stroking that goes on at the X Factor, I’ve found SCD to be a breath of fresh air. I’m just sorry that it’s taken me so long to give it a chance.

I am being absolutely genuine. Strictly is the best show on the telly...and the 2011 season has been a bumper season.

For me, Strictly is a much nicer show. It is fun, light and entertaining...how entertainment used to be years ago. It supplies your pop tracks (which is all the X F does) provided by a live band with singers who can sing...then there are the celebs...the awesome professional dancers...the dance routines...the costumes...the make-up...the talented judges and the fabulous Brucie to. In a word, it is brill. A perfect mix.

I came to Strictly four years in...the year Mark Ramprakash won...and I haven't looked back. Five years on...I am a fully signed up, hard-core fan. I absolutely love it. Strictly night is party night!

This is true, there's so many complaints about strictly on this forum and maybe it's not the best series ever. But strictly is by far the best out of all the reality/talent shows, and I would say still the best thing on tv at the moment

He is not being sarcastic and if you ask me his opinion is that of the vast majority of the public.

Yes, I agree, everyone I know who are fans of the show are not as critical of it as many of the people in this forum.

I gave up on the X Factor because it has just become a travesty of what it was originally, but for me Strictly still has the "feel good factor."

Probably my imagination but the tone of the OP sounds remarkably like that of another poster with a numerical name

I promise you, I have one account. I would love to know who this other person is...but I can promise you, I have one account and one account only...and I am being genuine to.

Strictly is just so British...Craig is Mr Nasty, but he isn't really. You know it is all tongue in cheek. I always look forward to his comments...especially in relation to Russell... dis-as-trous ...a-tro-cious ...aw-ful... fab-u-lous. Craig is class, Bruno is bonkers, Len is dead pan and Alesha has now come into her own...

I love Strictly...will be gutted when the series ends.

I 100% agree with everything that you have said! What a great idea for a thread - love it!

And I feel your pain about dreading the series finale. I love sitting around with my family watching SCD....everybody loves it, from my two year old to my great nan! I'm really going to miss that when it finishes. There's nothing else on telly that has that kind of universal appeal.

I am glad you are enjoying it.

It is not easy to create tv that appeals to the masses these days...but Strictly manages it. Brucie, in his 80s as host...all the way down to Harry Judd appealing to the tweenies and teens...it is pure magic...and all the more special in this fragmented world we now live in.

Strictly appeals to the family, and I know this sounds corny...but it is meant...it is keeping family together!

That is why I took precautions this year, I have transfered the whole series to disc, including ITT. This will ensure that I don't get withdrawal symptoms like I got last year when it was all over.

I wish I had the facility to be able to burn the series to disk. Would love to be able to do that...especially Strictly Does Wembley!

I even watched ITT (I don't normally) today because Russell was on...a great half an hour. I am going to miss the fun and energy that Russell brings to the show, but it wouldn't have been right for Holly to go out.

Had Holly lost the vote, would Russell have retired do we think? Would he have let Holly go out?
