here i live in the u.s. and the song is falling apart on the itunes charts already. but it was in the top 10 almost all week last week but yesterday sunday it was out of the top 10 which comes to a question as to whether it'll be a flop for her or not?

the song charted on the billboard hot 100 last week at no.73 its debut due to heavy airplay and it wasn't even released as a digital download until the beginning of the week. i think the song will be lucky to be in the billboard hot 100 top 10 this week,

similarly to lady gaga's second single from born this way album which was judas and that song charted in the top 10 but it was a commerical disappointment for gaga because typically gaga songs chart in the top 5 easily. in this case rihanna is the same thing but it looks like you da one will be bearly lucky to get into the top 10 this week,

what do u think?

i don't understand why she didn't perform it on the x factor last week in the us. or the uk show for that matter. they were a perfect opportunities to give the song a boost.

probably because with the album out this week, doing a song that everyone knows but may not have bought yet (12 million odd viewers on each side of the Atlantic is SUBSTANTIALY more than bought the single) would be the best way to promote it. In fact though I have heard it loads of time, seeing it live with a heavier bass to it has made me want to look for remixes of it.

It's my favorite song off the album and I also don't understand why she didn't perform it on X Factor, but looking at itunes, it may chart in the top 40 here on Sunday

I wouldn't call it boring but it imo isn't quite as good as WFL.

I think everyone's forgetting that the song was released a very short time ago and she's done ZERO promotion yet it still debuted in the top 10. It may fall out of the charts for now but wait for the video. It's said to be very controversial (of course) and filmed in London. I bet it will send the song right back up the charts when people start talking about it.

The problem is; the song is amazing and doesn't need a controversial or amazing video to back it up yet nobody's heard the song. Only fans and those who have the album will have heard it. It's got no radio play here in Dublin yet (not sure about the UK).

I'm sure once it's out there it will climb straight back up the charts.

Shouldn't she wait until WFL sales and/or chart position start to drop? WFL is still riding high and now she has 2 songs to promote

The song is yet to be released to radio. It will be on the 29th and once the success of WFL dies down Rihanna will start performing the song live, film the video and then she will have her 12th #1 on US BB.

She hasn't even made a video for it yet so obviously we have to wait.

The fact it had already acheved that despite not being promoted or properly released is quite an achievement in itself. How can something be classed as a flop when it hasn't even had the time to achieve it's full potential???

Agree, WFL is definitely better. Personally, I think You Da One is awful.

I find this artist very bland and boring, I don't understand why she's so popular. Well, I guess I do... but I just can't get into her music, it'd help if she could sing.

I really like You Da One. I think We Found Love is a bit boring, but You Da One is a TUNE!

However, it's currently selling less in both the UK and the US than one of her albums tracks (specifically Talk That Talk ft. Jay-Z), That doesn't bode well.

But I think it'll do okay in the end. I agree though, it's so stupid that she didn't perform it on X Factor.

right now talk that talk is charting a little higher than you da one but i will say i wouldn't be suprised if she releases it couple weeks later because when gaga's second single judas flopped the edge of glory came in as a single couple weeks later and it was a monster success.

maybe thats part of the reason why it may not debut at no.1 in the u.s.? especially if its the first track from her new album.
