I'm A Celebrity Odds

Hello.
23-11-2011
I'm finding it really interesting following the odds this year for the winner.

As they stand currently, best odds:

Mark: 9/4
Dougie: 7/2
Antony: 9/2
Lorraine: 12/1
Willie: 14/1
Jessica: 20/1
Fatima: 20/1
Pat: 25/1
Chrissy: 33/1
Sinitta: 33/1
Emily: 150/1
Stefanie: 200/1

Interestingly Dougie was down to 14/1 a few days ago and has suddenly shot back up to second favourite. Not sure why exactly, although I read a quote from William Hill earlier saying that it was his participation in Tuesdays show. Antony was the favourite originally but has dropped. Mark has stayed quite constant with his odds but I believe was originally second or third favourite.

Do you agree with these odds? Anyone worth a bet?

Hard to see past Mark at this stage. Sinitta is maybe worth a daft fiver; she's had plenty of air time and will probably have enough people voting for her that she doesn't go out early.

Mark is like a photo-fit of past IACGMOOH winners, but people just don't seem to like him.

Mark the ar@e licker would be the worst outcome this year. I just don't find him endearing at all.

I don't agree that Cotton should be third favourite.

The top 3 doesn't surprise me at all. Dougie for me out of those 3.

Think Mark or Dougie will win it. Can't understand how Lorraine and Willie are 4th and 5th favourite's with the bookies!

There where I would expect them to be in the betting. They have done nothing to suggest that there odds should be anything different to what they are at present.

Fair do's, i don't think either have got a chance realisticaly though. They seem nice enough people but haven't been given much exposure. I can't really remember either doing much apart from the catapult chest thing Willie did and Lorraine the past few nights with her teddy.

Maybe the bookies think he may have a "helping hand" with the votes like when he was in that singing show(also by ITV)

Hopefully Mark will hold onto his popularity and win

I don't get why Mark is favourite?

Me neither, I can't stand him.

The IAC reporter chap on This Morning said Cotton is the most unpopular contestant.

For every person that says they don't like him there might be another or more that says he's their favourite. That's why you get the same name on a 'like' list as you do a 'dislike' list.

Miss Cotton was the no. 1 favourite at the start of the season and now he's no. 3, so he's going in the right direction.

lol indeed. No matter how much they push him as being a winner, I'm sure he won't win.

...”

Yup. And with it being a vote to win (i assume) the viewer who really likes him is more likely to phone up and vote than the viewer who really dislikes him is to phone up and vote for someone else. Lol crazy explanation sorry.

I mean - a lot of people find Anthony unpleasant or whatever but what proportion of them feel strongly enough to ring up and register a vote for someone else ... And even if they all did that, those anti-anthony votes are all shared out over the other celebs. and so they don't cancel out the "like" votes.

Looking at which celebs have got enough "fans" prepared to phone up and vote I would suggest the younger viewers are more likely to vote and that's why the favourites are who they are - Mark Dougie Anthony

I can understand why Mark is winning the best odds. I started off hating him but actually I think he's an entertaining bloke and means no harm. Antony on the other hand is annoying. Sometimes what he says is right, but he looks way too proud of himself calling the other campmates this and that.

Before I clicked on this thread, I thought to myself "who might win?"... I have no idea, but I thought Mark would come in the top 3 and might be worth a bet... then I clicked on the thread and saw everyone else thinks the same and saw the odds LOL... maybe I won't bother!

He isn't particularly my favourite - finding that hard this year, but he's a nice guy (though none too bright), seems to have a kindness about him and he's goodlooking which I guess will attract some votes. I'm not sure he will necessarily win though, just top 3 - I can see quite a lot of the others doing well and beating him and I think Willie and Emily will probably go first unless they do something amazingly entertaining on Thursday.

Dougie's price is a reflection of the fact that historically, he ticks all the boxes. He wouldn't be the first 'human wallpaper' to be hyped by the edits in the final week. If he is, he has the profile of a winner. When he was 14/1 there was definite value there, which there isn't at the moment.

It would be farcical if he won, but sadly it's entirely conceivable.

I wonder if his odds are helped by his bandmates success so far on Strictly? Harry Judd is the favourite to win. Would be strange if they both won their shows.

This can indeed be very beneficial. You have hit on something for sure. If one wins, they probably both will.

What has Mark done to merit being favourite to win ... just don't get it at all

Mark is the Alex Reid of this year's I'm A Celebrity. ITV will be giving him a good edit if he has a new ITV2 show out later. A good ITV edit for Corrie fave Antony Cotton and Douggie will have his Mcfly fanbase.

It's not rocket science.
