![]() ![]() ![]() As for Christmas Day, my revised guess is: BBC1 3:10 FILM: Ratatouille 4:50 FILM: Monsters vs Aliens 6:15 BBC News 6:30 The Gruffalo's Child 7:00 Doctor Who 8:00 EastEnders 8:35 Strictly Come Dancing 9:35 EastEnders 10:15 The Royal Bodyguard 10:45 Michael McIntyre's Christmas Roadshow 11:45 BBC News With ITV basically forced to go: 3:10 FILM: Mamma Mia 5:15 ITV News 5:30 You've Been Framed 6:00 Emmerdale 7:00 Coronation Street 8:00 Downton Abbey 10:00 ITV News 10:15 FILM: Love Actually BBC1 could have a really good night with this, with Who keeping Corrie in check and double EE wrapped around Strictly given TRB a terrific lead in at 10:15pm against little competition. Having said that Love Actually could do well at 10:15 mopping up younger EE viewers who aren't interested in TRB. |

Frozen Planet did ok, relatively speaking, but possibly it was dented by That's Britain! considering it had little in way of opposition. I think having I'm A Celebrity... against it last week has seen it's audience drop a bit. Grand Designs also did well but seems slightly on the low side. The football did as expected; unless Manchester United are playing many matches are simply filler at this stage so ITV1 will be hoping United don't do the unthinkable and faiul to qualify. Channel 5 will be desperately hoping that they drop into the Europa League - though Chelsea and Manchester City are tasty back ups.

Well they wouldn't need too - obviously if the BBC had that schedule ITV would bring theirs forward by 15 minutes.

ITV's Christmas idents to be based on these Text Santa animated characters.
http://www.campaignlive.co.uk/thewor...CMP=ILC-SEARCH http://www.lambie-nairn.com/news/cel...9s-text-santa/ An animated promo campaign for ITV's new charity initiative kicks off this weekend. The first phase of it kicks off on 26 November, with a call to action featuring celebrities launching on 3 December. The animated characters will also take over ITV idents from 10 December. Lambie-Nairn developed the brand identity for the campaign, both on and off air. |

BBC winning back the rights to the World Athletic Championships for 2015 and 2017 I suspect means that Channel 4 won't be throwing a huge budget into their coverage of Moscow 2013. However, if they're looking for a presenter...

if EastEnders does not clear 9 million (BBC 3 not included) tonight, there will be no justice in the world, it was a stunning episode, totally spell bounding, and the best of the year so far.
Im sure dan2008 will agree with me. Dont really understand this Text Santa show, so im just going to use my default position, and say it sounds dreadful

Advertisers aren't willing to pay top rate though which is why ABC was the only network with a full slate of originals (and not cheap filler specials and repeats). Beyond that even if advertisers were willing to pay top rates one of two things happens:
1 - ABC now owes a lot of make good because everything was down 15-20% 2 - 'Top rate' actually translates to selling spots at a 15-20% reduction The significance of the black Friday advertising is massively overstated in why ABC continue to do this as evidenced by the fact none of the other networks are bothering. If ABC were still pulling top ad rates on Thanksgiving Eve then everyone else would be business as usual as well. I'm not saying that I would do it, especially with a very serialised programme like Revenge, which is best suited to being week after week. The only reason X Factor was on last night was because it needs to get rid of people (2 this week, 2 next week). |

Hope it doesn't have Hugh Frigging Bonneville on the cover...
It's funny hearing you getting annoyed at the thought of Downton Abbey being all over Christmas TV adverts. Remember David Tennant's last Doctor Who, you couldn't get more overkill than that, he was even in the idents for 3 weeks! |

I do however wonder how many thousand times we will see whatever super-sickly Downton trailer they come up between now and 9pm on 25th December. I suspect it will appear in almost every ad break on ITV during December... |

Tomorrow's Telegraph features Bruce and Tess on it's front page with the headline: "Why Strictly beats X Factor"
Sir Bruce says that The X Factor is losing viewers because of the 'scripted rows' between the judges. |

Im at wotk so didnt see it but ive heard good things about it. some people that stuck with Emmer regret it they said. Enders had a few trends on twitter also.Emmerdale was just 2eps together
and for the rest of the thread, what is this Text Santa show? I am pretty sure Santa does not want ITV viewers texting him on Christmas Eve night, given that he will be very busy giving out presenters elsewhere in the world. |
