What about something different? Waiting for ratings for Coronation Street and Holby last night, and the Arsenal/Man City Carling Cup match on Sky Sports. Will be good to see if EastEnders gets a boost from Branning Week.

On another note, does anyone have the full F1 2011 season ratings averages?

I fear there may be rather more of that to come....

At least we do have a fascinating ratings battle this year, even if I don't think we are going to get any fantastically great numbers on the day sadly.

Well i agree but there has been several Christmas TV threads started. It just seems like a boring roundabout of posts, expecially when you have to go through 11 pages to find out the days ratings

Emmerdale - 7.13m (32.2%) +1 108k (0.4%)
Eastenders - 8.75m (38.0%)
Corrie - 6.69m (27.6%) +1 186k (0.7%)
Holby - 4.39m (17.5%)

Looks like Holby dented Coronation St quite badly last night. A much more respectable rating for Eastenders though, which has been doing poorly of late

Coronation Street did really badly last night. I don't know why ITV didn't show it tonight at 19.30 after Emmerdale. It would have done much better in that slot. More poor scheduling, not advertised and even after the Monday episode, no reminder its on the next day.

Ouch! They will want Corrie to hold up better than that against SCD on the 25th...

Not that it's a surprise but Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is to shown on ITV1 which also picked up Body of Lies as well as titles that they've already shown such as I Am Legend. The press release only mentions Body of Lies rather than films like The Dark Knight or The Hangover but either film could debut on ITV1 next year.

b) watch both on BBC1 and ITV1 +1 going to bed at 00:05
c) watch both on BBC1 and ITV1 using PVR going to bed at 23:35 approx.

Don't forget the audience demographics are wildly different so it's not out the question for both to record good overnights.”

agreed, any talk of a clash totally misunderstands the modern TV environment.

Not sure what happened to Corrie ratings, that is noticeably low. I still think EE is a bit sluggish.

Why keep messing with the time slots and creating extra episodes? Surely this show functions best at 7.30 on its traditional days.

that would explain why Corrie flopped last night, its not normally on, on a Tuesday.

And the fools didn't bother telling viewers it was on. No ads, no voice over on Monday's episode that it was on on tuesday. Little wonder it died in the ratings. ITV are lazy buggers sometimes about advertising schedule changes.

What ratings is Death In Paradise getting? I like it and am hoping it's getting the ratings to warrant a 2nd series.

Brazilian Grand Prix - Ratings Roundup
2008
Qualifying - 2.99m
Race - 8.8m (41%)
* 15-minute peak: 12.5m (49%) at 18:45
* 5-minute peak: 13.1m

2009
Qualifying - 4.4m (24%) [before switch to BBC2]
Race - 6.6m (35%)
* 15-minute peak: 8.9m (39%) at 18:30

2010
Qualifying - 2.4m (17.2%)
Race - 5.1m (27.5%)
* 15-minute peak: 5.9m

2011
Qualifying - 2.77m (19.4%)
* 15-minute peak: 3.4m (22.3%) at 16:30
Race - 4.8m (27.2%)
* 5-minute peak: 6.1m

-------------------------------------

With all the figures in for this season, the unofficial averages are:

- Race: 4.55m
* highest since 1998
- Qualifying: 2.73m
* highest since circa. 1996

Graph - http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/6659/17427041.png

Note: There is not much data available for Qualifying sessions between 1994 and 1998 and as thus the averages may be inaccurate.

Also, as no race on BBC has had more than 8.8m, it means that the 2008 Brazilian Grand Prix remains the most watched F1 race in the UK ever.

a voice over on Monday nights, would have helped not everybody has the TV listings that people on this thread have (I include myself in that)

Last weeks Wednesday EE proved you can get good ratings for an episode that airs out of its normal time slot.

DIP had 4.33m only marginally less than Holby City's 4.39m which is pretty good considering that Holby had much weaker competiton than Paradise did.

Yes, you can get respectable ratings when you tell viewers. EE heavily advertised they were on all week, ITV didn't even bother a voice over. Bad handling, it's as simple as that. If you don't tell viewers, most won't realise as you expect soaps to be on when they're supposed to be and you don't look at the listings for those times. I doubt ITV really care, one night with bad ratings won't kill them, they'll pick back up on thursday. But in fairness to Corrie viewers they should tell them as some people won't even have realised they have missed an episode and will be a bit confused on thursday when the plot has moved along without them seeing lol.

It is a bit shocking how low prime time dramas are with ratings these days. That sounds enough to warrant a 2nd series, at least I hope so. If Waterloo Road keeps getting renewed at about a million less, then surely there ratings mean a 2nd series for DIP. It's an entertaining show and something a bit different to the other detective shows on tv.

Anyone know how OFAH is doing on BBC1 in the afternoons ? Purely by accident I caught the ''chandelier'' episode yesterday. It was still funny after all these years even though you know what's going to happen. I suspect it's getting over a million.

I don't know why ITV are messing around with their most durable show. Surely keeping it to its traditional slots is the best approach as the Monday 7.30 slot still does best. However, next year it's back to normal on Wednesdays.

despite what I said above about last Wednesdays EastEnders, soaps really should stick to there standards timeslots, expect it extreme situations, unsurprisingly throwing them around the schedule and adding needless extra episode isn't good for them.
