You got quoted there back in the days when you didn't normally venture to the MF - and came back at them with a brilliant and smatty poem. You really made me LOL at that.

It will probably happen in the next day or so - it went up to close to 200 pages during the final stages of the XF last year.

It would seem they spend their time going through our posts with a fine tooth comb. They must love Matt.

... What the heck have I missed in here??

Oh, and it was, like, 3 or 4 pages back, but just listened to the 'Mattified' version of RFYL someone linked - so good.

Release an EP [whatever that is - just know Leona's done one to give her fans something to tide over till her new album comes out] of it, along with all the Starlight singles / mixes Matt, pretty pleaseeee?

I am a fan of Darwyn but listening to the albums now comparing them to Letters (as well as the obvious voice thing) the difference in the quality of production and instrumentation is enormous - yes the songs are great but so rough. One day I'd love him to rework half a dozen of those songs.Seven Summers is a huge step up in that respect and I prefer the production and instrumentation on that album to Letters, for the most part. However I think the overall quality of the songs is better on Letters. There are (in my view) 4 or 5 really quality songs on it that stand up to the songs on Letters, whereas I think there are probably 10 on Letters.

I think my perfect combination would be to take RFYL, Reflections, WWC and maybe BOABH off Letters and replace them with Dirt Way to Be Paved Paradise and Flesh not Stone and then re-record the whole thing live with band.BTW does anyone know how you can record the Lincs FM thing on Sunday - on the off chance they play Way to Be I want an MP3”

My 16 year old metalhead son, who has many opinions on music and credibility, has not been put off by The Osbournes and is desperate to have tickets to the tour. BTW he thinks Matt has a great voice, enjoys 7S but not so keen on Letters, as the songs & production in the main lean a little too close to pop rather than rock. He thinks Matt's version of Uninvited is awesome.I mentioned Matt cooking with his Mum on Daybreak earlier to my other 2 kids, who both love Matt and the eldest said "really? cool - I expect you are recording it." He certainly didn't seem to think the idea was terrible.”

Hello all

Wkd I have agreed with everything you have said tonight, and you have really made me laugh:
Re first emboldened though, Its the roughness that I like about Darwyn. However I can see the tracks would need to be tweaked a little, Not too much!! I dont like my music too tidy

I would add Darwyn Growing Out and Picture of You to my perfect album!! I love BOABH but it Stands alone on letters , and would be even more out of place on a rockier album.

Re second bold. Careful what you say! It could Happen!!

Crabbie

My sons like Matt as a person, and I have caught my youngest whistling along to Without You before now, but they are not impressed with Letters! In fact my son walked through the kitchen yesterday when I was listening to Darwyn and said "he should have stuck to this kind of thing"

I wouldnt dare tell my boys that Matt is Cooking on Daybreak with his Mum!!!:

Its really interesting to see so many Joni fans!! I really cant wait to hear Matt sing River, its a beautiful song!!

I had "Blue" when I was in Art College a lot of years ago!!
One of my faves was "Case Of You"!! Beautiful lyrics, and these in particular were very significant to me at the time.

" I am a lonely painter,
I live in a box of paints"
Im frightened by the Devil
and drawn to those ones that arnet afraid"

Somehow lost track of the album along the way, but my son bought it for me for Xmas last year! It was really nice to hear it again, took me straight back!
