real music
man music use to be great back in the 80's and 90's. the music was still going good in the early 2000's but started to fell apart between 2005-07, but imo i think music got better in 2008 and now cause newer artists that are creative still are still going strong imo but its not like it was before. but its gotten better even though cds dont sell like they use to.
today's artists lets review them: katy perry-with her teenage dream album kind of reminds you of teen pop album when britney spears released her baby one more time and oopps i did it again albums. Katy's debut kind of reminded the sounds that alanis morissette had with her smash album jagged little pill. lady gaga-looking to have the potential to be the next madonna as she does copy her style and music noticably and in her current album she is trying to really re-invent herself in her music as in this material is like the kind of music that was released in the 80's rather than having to continue with the same material she did with the fame and the fame monster. beyonce-i dont consider her a new artist because she's been around since the late 90's and the 2000's and was the best artist of the 2000's. she in her last album re-invented herself with just mostly pop sounds and that's what established her into the queen of pop of the last decade. though she's more of an r&B artist because most of her material has always r&b and some hip hop and soul but never really used pop til irreplaceable, beautiful liar and her album I am Sasha fierce!! but i think the move to pop really worked for beyonce. now with this current album she's back to r&b and of course soul. bringing back real music that's real r&B music. the kind of sounds of the 70's, 80's and 90's. But of course today's top 40 radio stations aren't interested in playing this type of music but you gotta give credit to beyonce for bringing hardcore real music!! |

i do actually agree with a lot of your points to be fair. especially, the bit about katy going for a pure pop sound. she said herself that she was inspired by the likes of abba when working on the album. most of britney`s early music also came from sweden and max martin does produce some of katy`s album anyway. also i guess the clue is in the album title. not a bad thing in itself and i really liked the album much more than her début.
i heard she is planning on taking a break now and it wouldn't surprise me if her sound changes again when she returns. |

Britney spears- kind of similar to beyonce where she has been around since the late 90's and 2000's and her music is kind of still the same and is trending to today's music too. Not much to say but I think Britney's best year she's had in along time and in her current album she has produced 3 major hits and Britney never has done that really cause you'd expect her to do one or two but never three!! Her album didn't sell but her singles so far are!! Britney may not be the same artist she was when she first came in but she still has some life left in her and she's re-establishing her career again!!
Rihanna-she kind of has the potential to be the next beyonce and she really can be as her music is a little similar to hers!! She isn't that much of an r&b artist too much. More of a pop artist!! But still adds some r&b sounds to it and also sings some regagge music which not many singers sing that genre except really for bob marely!! So Rihanna is bringing some real music as well!! |

There's loads of real music and proper musicians/songwriters out there. You only have to watch Jools Holland's Later on BBC2 for example where you tend to find real musicians. Just last week he did a compilation of the best artists he's had on his show this year. There are some talented new, if unfamiliar names in there Even Adele is featured, the only really famous name act included, although Ed Sheeran is also there months before anyone had heard of him. It's still on iplayer. |

what i am saying how they're doing to try and keep music alive because right now music still ain't doing that good but it hasn't gotten better in previous years its still not good these days its just singles that sell not really albums. as a matter of fact, lady gaga and adele's albums are selling well and so are their singles as their singles sell quickly as well.
artists like britney spears, rihanna and katy perry are singles artists because their albums dont sell but their singles do. britney's albums before she had a nervous breakdown were selling very well but now its just her singles that sell. |

adele-she is the complete opposite of what her material is like to today's music because she's more of a soul artist than a pop artist really. she's bringing back soul and slow music dating back to the days that artists like whitney houston, mariah carey and celine dion would release aka the voices. she seems to probably the next voice certainly. too bad people didnt notice her too well with her debut and her album that's out is a monster success. people are starting to buy albums again due to this artist that's out as too is gaga as well.

I am a youngster (well I'm 23!
) and I think alot of chart music really is worthless tripe, it just is! Kids generally don't take music too seriously so they have no standards, they only want generic pop pap. I like pop but pop doesn't have to be generic there's loads of fantastic pop out there most of it just doesn't get on any charts! ![]() My music taste generally leans on old music really, that's where it's at for me!

Real Music makes you move, makes you emote, makes you think, makes you laugh, makes you cry, makes you breathe, helps you relax, helps you let loose, it gets you in the mood, it can also be rather rude, music defnes who you are and what you like.
Basically my summary of what real music is! Electronica and Trip Hop i think will be making a return as will Art Rock and House i think....Dubstep will be launching it into pop culture a lot more too. I think we have itneresting months ahead. We have the return of Madonna, P!nk, Christina Aguilera, Fleetwood Mac, No Doubt, all speculated and rumoured and confirmed for next year....so i think 2012 will be a definitive year for music! and new artists up and coming too and several surprises. I cannot wait to see where we are taken next! |
