Can't put ROM on HTC Desire
Having a problem putting a ROM my Desire at the minute. Trying to get Cyanogenmod 7.1.0 on via ROM Manager (I can't connect my device to a computer due to a bust port) but whenever it downloads, I hit the OK button to bring it into Clockword recovery, the phone turns off, HTC sign comes up but then there's a picture of a phone of a red triangle with an exclamation mark
![]() Anyone have an answer as to how I can put Cyanogenmod on? |

Your Desire is S-OFF right? S-OFF means you can write to the system partitions of the phone, if you are you are not S-OFF then you wont be able to install custom roms/recoveries.

OP - Have you got the latest Clockwork Recovery installed? I had some similar issues using an old version a while ago. You could try downloading the ROM to your PC and use dropbox to get it onto the phone before trying to flash again from recovery. |

Sorry, but you're talking rubbish - It doesn't need to be S-OFF to flash a ROM or recovery.

Hi, on ROM Manager, I tap flash Clockwork recovery and it says it's up to date? I'll try that technique, thanks

According to this thread you shouldn't use ROM Manager as it frequently causes errors like you describe.
