1. Harry
2. Chelsee
3. Holly/Jason
4. Robbie (at least nice to look at)
5. Anita/Alex (can't forgive the feet!)

I'd like to ditch the charleston as it's NOT A REAL DANCE!! (And agree with all those who want more training clips, fewer props and fewer cheesy VTs)

Pasha is a great addition.

2. Chelsee

4. Alex
5. Harry
6. Anita
7. Robbie

If Claudia couldn't be here a good replacement in Zoe.
Gets rid of the VTs.

Thank you! Still considering but will post my results after seeing ITT.

Hope you're keeping up with counting the votes! Which system are you using PR or first past the post?

And when will you be announcing the results???

wow I had not considered the above but happy to do so

As for the method how about I close it on Sunday at 6pm

PR strikes me as all encompassing but why dont posters add their preference and I will go by that when I add up the count which i guess I could post after the results show

Perhaps if there is enought interest at that point a Top six thread could be started with another positive and negative point which maybe could also be sugested by interested voters from now until then

Perhaps a response of say 250 votes by Sunday could be the trigger for carrying on for peoples top 6

I am open to ideas majority rules?

oooh

1Chelsee
2Jason
3Harry
4Alex/Holly
5Holly/Alex
6Anita
7Robbie

Cant decide with Holly and Alex. Anita if you want to stay in straighten your legs and point your toes!!!

Drastically shorten/do without - VT and take it back to "here they are in training" not some other guff.

Ask Brucie not to tell a joke EVERY single time he introduces someone. Every 5 would suffice.

Stop doing whirlies with the cameras we want to watch them dance not get seasick - and more emphasis on feet please!

I'd just give points from 1-7 for positions and add them up at the end!

Not sure what to do though where people have chosen two possibilities for one placing.

Go for the first named celeb only?

From the few we have already, Chelsee looks like whe would be first past the post at the moment.

my initail thought is where celebs are tied the second and or third name gos in the next place down I think that keeps it simple

some posters might not like their selections under the tied ones that far down

but without creating some whiz kid formula at Cambridge University ( other unis available) i dont think there is a fairer way

Maybe average out the points they would have got? So if two people are tied for second give them 5.5 each instead of 5 for one and 6 for the other?

1. Chelsee
2. Harry
3. Holly
4. Jason
5. Robbie/Alex
6. Alex/Robbie
7. Anita

Positive: Thanks for Artem and Pasha.
Negative: You've got the age balance of the celebs wrong, with too many oldies.

In the order I want to finish first, followed by who I think will finish in that order.

1. Harry / Harry
2. Anita / Chelsee
3. Robbie / Jason
4. Alex / Holly
5. Jason / Alex
6. Holly / Anita
7. Chelsee / Robbie

Positives (I can't keep it to one, sorry):
Zoe on ITT
The costumes (apart from the props)
The positive feeling that comes from the show (ie. happy, friendly, which feels genuine unlike The X Factor's bitchiness)
Great pro dancers, I love most of them especially Flavia, Vincent, Kristina, Aliona, Ola and Artem And Brendan's dancing.

Negatives:
Anton never given the chance to dance with a decent celeb. He may be a clown but he's turning into a joke as a result and that's not on.
Bruce is starting to struggle
Some of the VT's are far-fetched and way too cheesy
I miss Ian Waite
I also dislike the live band, would prefer to hear the recordings.
Pretending Sundays are Saturdays and treating the audience like their stupid.

Ooh this looks fun! Let me see...

1. Chelsee
2. Alex
3. Holly

Positive: Pasha. Just Pasha
Negative: Everything cheesy and cheap (i.e.: props and VTs)

I thought about doing it that way and Monkseal's suggestion below would be good too, except that one person has already grouped 3 celebs together, so I go for your suggestion. And be prepared to be asked to do it again each week until the final!

Yes have been thinking about that - I am delighted my thread has exceeded 1000 viewings within the first day the first time time i have ever started a thread but so far there have only been 40 responses and not all have participated in selecting their final 7

There is a danger that I could be accused of repeating this in the remaining weeks just to satisfy my own ego if the number of selections remain quite low

( I dont want ti be thought of as another Terry who seems to to be quite satisfied winding up others on the same issue constantly reserecting old threads)

which is why i tentavley suggested earlier that if there were in excess of 250 selections by 6 pm Sunday it might be of interest to a wider community to continue with it

what do you think ? Let the responders ( or lack of them )decide ?

Am totally uncommitted to one favourite( for the first time in strictly history) - this is based only on what I've seen so far. And I think we're in agreement as forumites that what we see via vt etc is possibly misleading.

*Deep intake of breath*

1 Chelsee (a natural all-rounder, with infectious enthusiasm)

2 Alex (for - currently - most improved and joyful in her dance)

3 Harry (best technically, especially ballroom - yet his pleasure never seems to reach his facial expressions)

4 Jason (potentially a favourite, a real grafter, and loving Kristina's choreography but some magic missing somehow)

5 Anita (another grafter but love of the dance always obvious)

6 Holly (contentious I know. Potentially brilliant. Partnered by a wonderful choreographer. Many - if not all - the natural advantages but often appears too laid back. Ok - her 'laid back Aussie personality - but I ... having never heard of her previously ... am reliably informed she's an actress! )

7 Robbie (has been surprisingly pleasing in many ways but at this stage of the competition want to see results by merit).

Messages:

Some good additions - to dancing pro and Zoe's doing well

Too much phaff. Ocean liners like the SCD franchise need time and space to negotiate changes in direction. And need to take care not to lose passengers - and crew - overboard!

Sorry if I and others have created a burden for you. (Have only just read this while posting my votes) But so long as it's a task of love that's great.

For what it's worth, people will be (me most certainly) changing our minds between now and the final. It's that type of a series I think.

So what about a weekly report, giving a general impression? And then, nearer the time (last 4 or 5) having a final vote? I don't know how (but BB does) how to set up a thread where the work is done for you and no-one can vote more than once???

No dont worry i didnt see it as a burden - I love stats/ figures /trends etc

Being fairly new on here i am being careful in trying not to fall into the trap (that one or two have) of egotiscal self importance banging on about a minority interest subject that inflames negative vibes - we are all on here to enjoy - i simply didnt want to spoil the party-

I think I was offering a solution that people viewing and or responding might think was a good way to end it or happily continue if the interest is there Sunday night

Not going to happen, but:

Holly
Chelsee
Harry
Jason
Alex
Robbie/Anita

To Moira Ross:

Thank you for bringing the the sparkle and excitement back into Strictly last year and for bringing in some great new pro-dancers.....

....'fraid you went overboard this year and too far away from The Dancing. If I could change only one thing () it would be to replace the cheesey VTs with more training footage.

Eta: Couldn't leave it there - the judges need a debrief and rebrief - the inconsistency is doing my head in

To all those SCD apprecation Threads on the top of the page- may I presume to thank you for your tolorance that I have alerted you to this thread - If any of you feel "viololated"

(I am sorry please would you put it down to temorary insanity) rest assured I will not be doing that again - for someone as (computer) illitterate as I, it was a labourous task that even cutting and pasting seemed to take forever

Because this is my first post ever I am thrilled that roughly 1230 (roughly) people have viewed this post by 7 a,m this morning, but sorry you havent all decided to vote - voting anywhere is not compulsary bit I am curious to see if we get 250 voting /referendum responses by 6 pm this Sunday.

Im off to work see you after 5pm Thank you again for your tolorance and kind attention

My vote (but it could well change before the final) goes to:

Chelsee
Harry
Jason
Holly
Alex
Anita
Robbie

To Moira Ross:
Good points: Zoe on ITT, good mix of celebs this year.
Bad points: Silly VTs, judges should be more consistent and give constructive criticism instead of attention-seeking.
Stunty
26-11-2011
1 Chelsee
2 Harry
3 Holly
4 Jason
5 Robbie
6 Alex
7 Anita

Good decisions by BBC on introducing the new professionals ....... Pasha a great selection this year.

Zoe Ball on ITT ..... good replacement and has slotted in seemlessly, and refreshing change from Claudia.

Bruce is still the best host of the show ...... the Sunday show definitely misses him when the show loses a bit of leadership somehow.

SCD beating XF in the ratings. Yay
