I predict that Simon will go on and on and on and on about how Jonathon is wonderful and the rest are rubbish....to discredit them as a vocal ensemble.

I don't like them, but they are all talented singers.

But Jonathan is wonderful and the others are very, very good. I agree about Simon doing his best to discredit them. He stated in the NOTW today that he would not have put them in his top 3 and called Jonathan "the pretty one", so I cant moan about Simon too much but I think he feels that G4 are going to be providing hot competition for his 3 singers.

You want to talk horse manure? Did you see the version of 'Creep' on saturday's show. God help us all if this lot are let loose onto the CD racks!

I'll be interested to see how Simon goes about this.

He can't exactly rubbish the concept of opera-style boybands when he has a project of his own along similar lines, and in fact, though I'm sure he wouldn't want G4 to win, I reckon he'd be happy to see them stick around for a while in order to promote the idea to the viewing public that this type of music is truly wonderful and is set to be The Next Big Thing (so help us).

Il Divo are set to release in early November, so mightn't they cash in on any newly-created public interest in this style long before G4 have a chance to release anything? Could easily work to their advantage I would have thought.

I think they r fantastic and deserve to do well. Might be better suited to the stage rather than the charts though.

they'll be backstage after they do the same thing each week.
OTP - One Trick Ponies

...although they may take over from those poofs and piano guys on Jonathon Woss

..another thing about G4..why do bands insist on having the number of band members in their name... it is just a recipe for disaster cos someone will always leave..

"Why are you called G4?"
"Cos there were initally 4 of us before the talented one left"

havent they seen the ending to the S Club 7 TV show??

so who was the talented one in S Club 7 - ok Paul was ok, but Rachel Stevens hasn't done too bad since the split, and ** had a great voice too - in fact the only naff one was Tina (Really can't sing)

apologies, i was merely pointing to the fact that the name S Club 7 was redundant after one of them left.

In terms of talent I would say the most talented out of the Clubbers is....err......err....err

the one that got done for drugs was prob the most entertaining if only for getting caught smuggling

Rachel is a teeny tiiiinny little pop princess and i liked LAX a lot and the second one. not too bad....the More More More song wasn't even good the first time around and her version is awful.

Oh no don't get me wrong, im not saying they were amazing. But i c wot ur saying about people leaving bands with numbers in the name. Jonathan doesn't need the others in the group - he is good by himself

G4 = English Classically Trained Toff Version of the Cheeky Girls. Smile when you first saw them, snigger the next time, disbelief the third and fingers-in-you-ears-please-stop-its-embarrassing-me-now-thanks sort of thing.

They are a tacky novelty, a one trick pony and I can't see them going anywhere but the bargain basement at woolies once they release their ineveitable take on christmas hits.

Not everyone will appreciate the majesty of G4 which is a shame but its the sort of thing I expect as they are very different from the norm and a refreshing change to see a group like this in this sort of competition.

Didn't say they couldn't sing, they just sing the same thing over and over agin in an annoying accent and in an annoying vocal tone.

I think you should wait till you see them perform live with music before you pass judgement but as a J.A.B member I really hope you will see the light.

Yes, us J.A.B.s are here to support them. A lot of people would rather listen to an album by G4 than an entire album of Rowetta and her man-like wailing

I do like Rowetta a lot but my heart belongs to the G4 boys. Its time we had something different in the charts for a change. For my money, Jonathan has the best voice in the competition but I know its all about personal preference.

As much as I hate everything G4 have done so far and as frankly laughable as I find their very existence, I'm kind of curious to see what they're going to do in the live shows so I'd like to see them hang on for a few weeks yet.

See you all back here on Saturday for some G4 bashing.

I believe I described it as Musical Genocide...but still it could've been worse they could've murdered "Karma Police" instead! I needed the heimlich manoeuvre after choking on my tea!!
Covering songs by "credible" artists does not IMHO make G4 credible, just laughable.

That sort of attitude will not get you into J.A.B. There is room for all musical tastes. I respect criticism as long as it is fair. Announcing that you will be back for some G4 bashing doesnt fill me with confidence that you will give an unbiased opinion but I look forward to reading it anyway.

You could also use this opinion about any of the other eight singers too, including Rowetta, (who I like a great deal). The closet-mindness being shown to something that is different doesnt suprise me but it is disappointing.
They also didnt choose the song - Louis did.

Hmmm, the same goes for you. If you can say that they are brilliant then I can say they are a crock of it.
