  • I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!
Bored of this show now. Same thing year after year.

Having watched Big Brother this year and seen all the different secret tasks and games they invented for housemates which are generally all different every year, it makes me wonder why the hell itv are so obsessed with doing the same things over and over again, year after year.

Celebs in a box and covered in bugs. Celebs made to eat bugs. Celebs made to feel around in the dark for bugs. Celebs buried in a hole and guess what? Yes more covering of bugs. For god sake I know we're in the jungle but please can we have a better variety of tasks that don't just involve celebs getting covered in bugs or eating crap. It's just boring now. How about change the record eh? I'm sure there's other tasks they could do that don't involve the same things year after year.

Sorry but even Ant and Dec look bored this year. Didn't bother watching last nights and to be honest this show has become so repeatative, boring and predictable i'm seriously considering giving up watching.

I can tell you what's gonna happen before it's even shown. We'll get more of the Anthony Cotton show followed by more bug related tasks where nobody celebs scream like girls whilst gaging and throwing up for our entertainment. We still have the compulsory bug smoothies and another eating trial to come followed by the compulsory reading of letters and videos from loved ones and it will all end in doing the Hell Hill trial which they've done now for the last 10 years, followed by the coming out show featuring underweight celebs dying for a bath and cramming their faces with as much food they can possibly fit on a room service trolley.

NEXT!!!

Have you watched this show before?

BTW I totally agree with you

Only this year it's ten times worse than before as it has gone down the trashy TV route with total nobodies taking over the show

Just this morning, I deleted its 'series' link on my Sky + box. I've given up on this program.

Totally agree. Shame Freddie had to go cos there's no interesting people in there. You've got the compulsory eye candy for the women, the compulsory shower hogging eye candy for the men who nobodys ever heard of, the ex hollywood movie star who's not worked in years, the soap star, the ex reality tv star (this year I think Mark is filling both that role and the eye candy for the women role) the boring as hell sports celeb, the two late commers, the 80's one hit wonder pop star and the drama queen. All that seems to be missing this year is the compulsory posh boy like Burrel, Brockett or Havers.

Then at the end of the day they'll crown the winner that itv decided to give the best editing time to so it doesn't really matter as it's probably already been decided. Could this show get any more predictable?

Given that ITV won 'Terrestrial Channel of the Year', it shouldn't be a surprise that they've gone down the trashy tv route - it's what ITV do best.

I would love to see other types of trials and am now coming around to the suggestion that others have made about having ordinary people in there instead of celebs; ordinary folk may be more up for a laugh and not care quite so much about their public persona.

It's the greenest series we have ever had...ITV very environmentally conscious...recycling some existing faces into yet another show:

A & D
Cotton
Mark
Lorraine
Chrissie
Pat

even bringing back Freddie from the dead (albeit breifly).

If I ever watched ITV for more than about 25 hours per year I'd be more worried about what they plan to do with these people in the future

"Mark & Tony Do Downton Abbey"

"Pink or Blue... the sequel to "Red or Black" (sniggers) starring Mantony

I must admit, having no jungle legends in there is very disappointing, we usually have one.

I miss a Gest or a Dickinson or a Rotten or a Van Day.

What were you doing in this thread when you don't even watch it?

Yeah i'm aware of that but I don't watch Strictly Come Dancing so I don't into that thread cos i'm not interested in it? Why go into a thread about a show you're not interested in watching?

Could have been Freddie.

But who was ITV's wonderfully inspired choice to replace him?
......Emily.

Pathetic.
It's Jon...

Gave up watching this rubbish a couple of years ago.

Seeing so called"celebrities" eating kangroo penis etc and being covered in all sorts of creepy crawlies got boring around 8 years/series ago

Freddie Starr would have livened the place up - shame he had to pull out.

I agree about it's repetitiveness but I could excuse that if we had some big names in there to watch being humiliated instead of nobodies who think they are somebody!

Why hasn't it ever been made compulsory that EVERY campmate must do at least one trial? Lorraine Chase has done nothing in there yet, not even a treasure chest, apart from join forces with Cottonsocks when he decides to spit the dummy!

It would at least add something to the show if the same people weren't always the ones doing the trials and getting the airtime! When someone does a trial, they should be excused from any more until everyone has done one!

Crissy and Lorraine haven't done one, not sure about Willy. So really it should be one of them next, but if they want food, I am sure they will ignore them and choose a youngster.

That's what I mean, though, they shouldn't have the power to decide among themselves who does the trials, until everyone has done at least one! Even in the public vote ones, whoever is picked one night shouldn't have to do anymore until the rest have done one! Too many are sailing to the final with very little hardship and it's not fair, plus some of them would probably love to do one but will never be picked because the likes of Pat will tell them they wouldn't be able for it!

Crissy has at least gone on the treasure chest runs, but Lorraine hasn't and I don't remember Dougie being on one either, though I may be wrong.

Oh I agree, it should be Lorraine or Crissy next, let's see what the trial is and see whether Pat deems it ok that Lorraine or Crissy can do it...

Well he's gone now so not worth watching anymore. All that's left is a bunch of dullards and that bitchy little drama queen.

Where's the off button?

I agree with a lot of the posts so far but the main reason people get annoyed is because the "reality" has been taken out of these shows and producers now call these sorts of programmes "entertainment" shows.
Big Brother and X Factor are also all about biased editing, judges and panellists spinning away.
If there was no public voting with viewers spending their money then the producers can do what they like for all I care. But as it is they do owe us a fair editing so that we can at least vote fairly.

To be honest I've only dipped in and out.
I've now stopped altogether, I loathe faux romances and cliché ridden reality stars. The only decent stars left are Fatima and Willie and they will be sidelined by the producers wanting to shove boobs front and centre at every given opportunity.
