Taylor Swift: A Long Career?
Do you think that T-Swizzle will have a long career> I do hope so! I mean TS, Fearless & SN are amazing. You can't fault on track on those albums (Unless your a hater). She leaves a nice gap between her album releases and really progresses them to make sure they're perfect. Her music is truly magical. Her albums sell amazingly well, but her singles just flop. I just hope she doesn't stop.

She has a ten year plan at present, of course very little ever goes to plan but she will still be around when most of the current batch of other female artists are long gone and forgotten.
She has a very rare hat trick of talents for a female artist.. a talented songwriter, a great live performer who can perform both intimate and stadium sized gigs and a really nice person who loves her fans and who is totally respected by the music industry. You dont get those 3 things coming together very often. |

Taylor swift will have a long career
I think she has established herself alongside the likes of Leann Rimes, Shania Twain and Faith Hill. Whether or not she will be commericially successful is unknown, but she is already an Icon for her Genre. |

Her voice always seems a bit weak when I've heard her live but I loved her last album nonetheless

her albums sell like in the first couple months and her singles only go platinum once in the first months. after the first couple months boom people forget about taylor. taylor was good between late 2008-2010. 2011 people seem to have fogotten about her and it was suprising she was won entertainer of the year at the american music awards. because katy perry, adele, nicki minaj and lady gaga had the better year than taylor did.

I really like her but I think alot of her songs sound the same. I think she is a far better singer than alot of other singers these days though.

I think she'll be successful as long as she's commercially viable to the teenage girls who buy her music and make up the vast majority of her fanbase.
The Mid-West loves her, she'll always have love there. I think she'll be stepping back a bit over the coming decade though, I think she has already hit her commercial peak. |

For me i look at Miss. swift like this i really related to and enjoyed fearless and her first album when they first came out but on reflection i find them twee and a bit dull shes 21 and writing songs like mine and back to december still whereas if you look at other artists the same age such as Adele their writing and style of music is miles ahead i get hse has this loyal fan base but for me speak now was a broing fearless and she showed next to no progression flogging the same horse in different clothes unless she grows up drops the cookie cutter act and has songs with more depth than the depth of a very shallow puddle i see her stalling especially in the uk especially as speak now failed to set the uk alight

I like some songs but I don't regard her on a level like Faith Hill, Sheryl Crow etc

Again i agree, George Michael was 24 (a little older i know) when he wrote faith and yet Taylor is still writing middle America drivel like speak now. Now I'm not saying she should Rihanna it up but what i am saying if she wants longevity and to stand shoulder to should her with her contemporaries she better get herself a little edge mind you it might ruin her standing when she runs for the republicans circa 2034 :P .

![]() She's a country pop artist, if she were wanting to be more 'credible' she would go the indie rock route but what she is doing now seems to be working well for the hardcore fans ![]() Seeing her having lunch with John 'shagger' Mayer isn't great however

Haha i was saying she shouldn't do a RiRi talk about epic fail on her part, but my point still standing is look at Adele 21 or Faith by George Michael hell even the kick inside and you see just how insipidly bland her music is and how much she needs to do to actually gain some credibility wow she wrote an entire album but not a particularly good one.

Any person who is a good song writer, which Taylor is, will have a good career. She doesn't have to rely on her looks or other people to write songs for her for her to do well so her success will continue. Her music will also mature more as she gets older but at the moment it's earning her a lot of fans and it sells well. |

![]() The Kick Inside? Hardly comparing like with like there. Besides I'd rather listen to Taylor's next record than Kate's current

I agree 21 was boring but it was in standing with her age etc which is the point I'm trying to make but badly with all my comparisons :P. So here is what I'm trying to say she is 22 and writing songs younger than her years, which is there for unrelatable and obviously contrives to fit with the confines of a tween fan base. If she wants a long standing career she needs to take all these breakups and bad men moments as it were and from it create an album like 21 which i think she is fully capable of doing. But if she does not grow artistically or otherwise and delivers the same stuff she'll have a fan base in the mid west and that's about it maybe its because shes American or boring i don't know but somethings gotta give.
