he is AWFUL!!!! 10 times worse as a presenter in america than cheryl could have ever been as a judge there. at least people in america responded positively to her!

what made Simon think he could pluck an unknown from Wales and make him present (what he thinks is) one of the biggest shows in America? what a stupid decision they should've gone with a known American.

sorry if there's already a thread on this

Well, what would Steve do.... if the dream died for him?

What do the Americans think of him? They're a very different audience to us!

"The dream is over" clearly referred to "winning the X Factor"

Lakoda Rayne's reaction was petulant.

Case in point... Dermots silly pre-show dances.

We see how awkward Dermot looks doing it and we celebrate the humour in it. Most Americans would watch it and consider it unprofessional.

He's one of the only reasons I watch it. I honestly never get tired of looking at him.

What does him being from Wales (as opposed to anywhere else in the UK, or Canada, Aus, NZ etc.) have to do with anything?

I'm no Cheryl fan but it beggars belief that they fired her but not Steve, however I think they had to save face and keep him, how would it look giving the presenter the boot too, I really can't see him returning for season 2, he's terrible and has made me appreciate dermot all the more

Steve is only the host, he is not in the spotlight like the judges.
You can't compare the two.
Besides he was a **** here as well but everyone fancies him cause he is oh so pretty.
Probably no different in USA.

.
Steve is DIRE on US X Factor.

I once saw him presenting on the BBC when I switched my tv on. I had no idea who he was, but thought that his presenting skills were totally terrible.....kinda like they had picked someone straight off the street who had no idea what he was about. Imagine my total surprise and shock when Simon picked him for US X Factor.....like Simon had lost his marbles.

Maybe USA think he is ok

um that wasn't really important, what I was wanting to stress is the fact he is TERRIBLE and unknown to Americans. Why not get someone like Ryan Seacrest who does american idol?

Not watched it so can't comment about him other than picking up on third hand comments. For those still supporting in some way Our Cheryl, be glad for her, that besides her own failings she didn't have to sit and watch him for hour after hour. There is alway's something positive in any situation.

wrong! ... hosts such as Ryan Seacrest and Demot O'Leary are an integral part of the show, totally in the spotlight and get more airtime overall than any single judge ...... and Steve is far far beyong KRaap

Was pretty poor to start off with but I'm feeling they've actually made a good decision with him. He's improved and as time goes by, he'll likely get much better. Some of his motions felt a little robotic at first, didn't feel natural, but he's getting better. There's people out there that could have come in and done a better job straight off of the bat, but he will get better and can be good for the long term future of the show.

Oh my God that is hilarious!! I haven't bothered watching X Factor USA but I've clearly been missing something special with Steve.

They have described him as a serial killer?! good Lord! I just don't know what has gone on. Why has the accent changed? Why are Fox making him come across so seriously? He never used to be like that at all. I always thought his whit made hilarious viewing.
