O2 network screwed up today?!
Okay so before I explain, I swear I have taken my meds for today
.I went to check my phone and had 6 missed calls from a friend. I rang him back and he asked me was I having him on because three of the times he called he got rooted to a baby answering, an indian person, then a voicemail of a network called 'I like mobile'. He was convinced I had some app on my phone which could do this and would not believe I was innocent. I then started to think that perhaps he was winding me up. So got him to call me a few times, one of the times I answered there was about 5 secs of silence followed by a ringing tone as if it was me that had initiated the call, then it hung up. Then I got him to ring me again, I answered and a Spanish person started talking to me, on that same call he actually got through to someone that spoke English and she said she was trying to get through to her friend. We tried again and this time got through fine but there was the sound of keypad dial tones as if someone was pressing buttons yet neither of us were. Has anyone else had this happen today or even ever?! It's very weird and a bit worrying! |

o2 is fine today. I don't think it is an app, I'm pretty tech savvy, always read permissions before downloading, usually only use known developers and have antivirus. I know none of that means I'm totally protected but certainly reduces the odds of picking up a rogue app. |

Just rang o2 and there's problems with cross wires/wrong calling in NI and Scotland and they don't know when it will be fixed.
Good luck to anyone who gets it, very funny but also very annoying. |

Wow!, never heard of that sort of thing happening before, very odd.
GiffGaffe has been having problems again, they are blaming O2 even though they are part of the company! They have had a catalogue of issues with outages for their users over the last year or so. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/11...ffgaff_outage/ |

Glad to see O2 is back on form - I was starting to wonder why they hadn't had a decent outage in a while but fortunately they haven't lost their knack.
I wonder why the resident O2 apologist hasn't weighed in on this? They seem to have started another thread extolling the virtues of Giffgaff's cheapness, which is basically the exact same network as (and is owned by) O2. |

Happened to me twice today.
Called my boyfriend, it rang then went silent then a woman answers, i say 'i must have wrong number'(but i cant as his number is programmed into phone), she hangs up and phone is still ringing, then a guy answers, he hangs up its still ringing and another woman answers from a company. i then call my sister a few hours later and same thing happens and i can hear this guy saying Davie I cant hear you so i hung up this time. I contacted o2 on chat and was told all ok with them just to take sim out and clean it. Iv had a cross line before a few years ago when calling boyfriend in London but never three calls all at once. |

That old chestnut! of course a dirty sim card would naturally cause that issue.
