Thanks once again for the heads up.

Stones night on BBC-2 last Saturday (and early Sunday) was absolutely brilliant and definitely worth missing "Match Of The Day" for!

And now it looks like with Part 2 of "Crossfire Hurricane" and the BBC-4 show you mention I'll be missing MOTD again next Saturday!

No problem This Sunday coming 25th November, 11pm on BBC 2 the first ever broadcast of the legendary early Stones doc, "Charlie is my darling". Hit the red button this week and you might catch some exclusive interviews as well!.

Loved it on saturday night, however thought that the definitive stones doc is still yet to be made. They need to hand everything over to the guys who did the Beatles Anthology, and let them get on with it!

Particular highlights for me were some amazing footage which I had never seen. Thought that the film of Brian Jones with "No Expectations" playing as he left the studio with his sitar very poignant and sad.

Did anyone watch the red button clips? Awesome, particularly "Black Limousine" from 1981.

I've missed all of the BBC Rolling Stones week I'll have to catch up on iPlayer when I eventually have a day off! Work has been mental.

Looking at Greatest Hits packages but I don't know which one to get. I notice that the new one is 3 discs whilst Forty Licks is only 2.

Good to see him rooted to the spot as ever! Wish I had been there, looks like it was an amazing gig. Mick Taylor helped out as well .http://youtu.be/Xy4FvB3o_Wo

You are in for a treat. Just finished watching Crossfire Hurricane, very good, some amazing footage. Have got the Muddy Waters concert on in the background at the moment. Sounding good!!

Had a good look at the new compilation, and it is a good set. I would go for it if I didnt have any others. Very comprehensive, and all in chronological order as well.

I think that's the one I'll buy then.

I'm just about to watch the first part of Crossfire Hurricane.

Catching up with pretty much all of the Stones footage from last week. I'll be fluent in Rolling Stones by the end, I'm sure!

Been listening to some of the post "Exile on Main St" albums. Contrary to popular opinion which would say that the Stones got boring and complacent in the 70's, there is much to enjoy. For example:
http://youtu.be/sqUiWpGGCmI from "Goats Head Soup"

http://youtu.be/GFNiSjN4BBY from "Its Only Rock and Roll"

http://youtu.be/8FYnEYiVK60 from "Black and Blue"

Enjoy, more to follow.

Groups come and go but class always holds it's head up and marches on. The stones are a superb group and just as The Beatles made some great music The Stones are still out ther with music that has stood the test of time. Funny when you look back and see at the start The Beatles were the scruffy ones and The Stones had suits on. Mick and Kieth have written and performed some of the best music that the business has to offer.

Finally got my hands on a copy of GRRR! today. Listening to it now. Can't beat the rolling stones

They've outlasted Beatlemania, psychedelia, prog rock, glam rock, punk, disco, synth pop, Two Tone, heavy metal, indie, acid house, rave, Britpop, nu metal, garage and new indie without jumping on these bandwagons. The Stones survival I attribute to this, and the fact they make some excellent music.

Good to see they're playing Glastonbury at long last.

Hope they vary their playlist, and give us some good early Stones era (1963 - 1965) stuff as well as their more acclaimed late sixties / early seventies songs.

Annoying that we might only get an hour of the Stones at Glastonbury on BBC 2 tonight, but an hour is better than the 4 songs that they were only going to show originally! Anyway I will still be watching, then keeping an eye on youtube for the rest! ........Does Mick seriously not know the WHOLE GIG will likely be up on you tube tomorrow in ropey audience iphone quality! Might as well bite the bullet and let them show the whole lot!

I'm really looking forward to catching up with their set tomorrow. I considered getting tickets this time last year. I've been absolutely kicking myself that I didn't all weekend!

The BBC are only allowed to show one hour.

It is a pity that the first half hour appears to be the worst bits.

Miss You is average Stones and Midnight Rambler was a poor performance.

At least it is getting better now with Tumbling Dice and Brown Sugar.

But they are still a shadow of what they were like at their peak in the 60s and 70s.

Springsteen gets better with age, the Stones don't.

Watching again at the moment, even though we got only just over an hour, what we got was pretty good. They really looked to be enjoying themselves, especially Charlie and Keith. Good to that we got Mick Taylor as well.

I have the house to myself, with lots of Stones related stuff on the TV and Bose system. Perfect summer's playlist.

As if that wasn't totally predictable. I haven't bothered watching the Stones Glasto set nor would I bother. They've been poor for many years now on record as well as live. They rely totally on hype now, Not sure that Springsteen gets better with age but he hasn't deteriorated quite so obviously when performing.
