Afternoon to anyone here.
Had a lovely lunch at my cousins pub.
Very nearly imbibed but was strong and resisted the temptation.
What a perfectly good girl i am.
Alright alright i'll be honest it wasn't me being strong, it was the thought of the hangover that put me off.
Got away as soon as i could, as i was pining for this place .
Read up and saw you were quite chatty last night which was good to see.
I had a wonderful time last night(liar liar pants on fire) babysitting.
Baby would not settle and i had to walk around the room with him for about
an hour.
I came home exhausted and went straight to bed.
Anyway i am here now.

Afternoon all, hope you are well

Had fun yesterday, went over to Brislington (about 25 mins drive) to Tesco, did our shopping with Laura being a pain in the proverbial, and when we got back I realised I had lost my purse. I figured her distracting me had caused me to leave it in the trolley (and this would be the second time it's happened) and I thought there's no way we would be lucky to twice have some kind person hand it in.

But I rang them up and yes they had it, so off we zoomed (thank heavens I had petrol) to get the purse, all intact money included. Thank you whoever handed it in, both times

I will either not take Laura shopping again or start taking my handbag #teamnumpty

It is yes I think most people are basically honest and nice, it's just not what sells papers or makes headlines so we get the mistaken impression that the world is all bad and cruel. It's what the Canadians say about Americans, that they deliberately feed bad news and make the world a place of doom, keep the population scared, whereas Canada has a completely different mind-set and so the people seem happier

Reading last nights posts about favourite singer/music
reminded me of a certain embarressing occasion .
One of many i have endured over my life time.
This story will totally give away my age.
Not that i'm bothered.

One of my all time favourite singers is Johnny Mathis.
Wonderful distinctive voice.
Well he was appearing at the Albert Hall and i was determined to go and see him.
(the only singer i have ever paid money to go and see live)
My friend who was also a fan said she would come with me.

Well my friend lived in london so it seemed the best idea for me to go
and stay with her for the weekend(not that that has any bearing on the story).
My friend was exactly like Hyacinth Bucket, you know the type
tried to be high class but was plainly for all to see, not.
She was very funny though, just exactly like Hyacinth.

It's interesting about Johnny Mathis that he was a good sportsperson, had a chance for Olympic try-outs but had to decide whether to do those or go for his appointment for his first recording, which obviously he chose Talented man, good choice

edit: sorry for interrupting, I'm full of useless facts

As i did not live in London at that time, i asked her about the dress code
for going to a concert at the Albert Hall.
Evening dress says she. Are you sure says i , yes positive says she.
I already had a beautiful evening dress that my brother had bought for me to wear at his wedding
( he wed a very rich chinese girl ,oh Sorry stop going of track shem)
so i wasn't concerned about getting a new evening dress.
My friend went out and bought one, which apparently cost a bomb.

Come the night of the concert and there we were dressed up to the nines in our evening dresses
aquiver(oooh i like that word aquiver) with excitement.
I was going to see my man Johnny Mathis.
I felt like a sixteen year old girl.
We got into friends husbands car and he whisked us to the Albert Hall.

Well what a sight greeted us when we arrived.
Horrors of horrors every one and i mean everyone
were wearing ordinary street wear.
I did not want to get out of the car, i just wanted to die.
My friend though said "how disgusting coming to the Albert Hall looking like that."
Whereupon she swept out of the car like a duchess or something
whilst i cowered behind her.
Everyone and again EVERYONE stared at us .
I have never (well thats debatable) been soooooo embarressed.
Spoilt the whole experience for me but my friend was'nt phased at all.

Some time aterwards though we went into hysterics laughing about it.
Never ever wore that evening gown again.

Did i tell you that when i was young i had aspirations to become a Ballerina?.
Well i did and i went to ballet lessons for three years.(you wouldn't believe it if
you could see me now).

Well we had a concert in the nearest town and there were several troupes taking part,so our ballet mistress emphasised how we were to do our very best and not show her up. ( yes she was a bit of a dragon).
We were dancing swan lake i remember.
Got on stage and everything was going swimmingly until once again
my Jinx struck .
My knicker elastic broke.
There i was flitting about trying to look graceful and trying to keep my knickers up at the same time.
I must have looked a sight.
Then i could hear the audience laughing.
I couln't wait for that curtain to close, so so embarressed.
I was thirteen at the time.
Scarred me for life.
Gave up ballet that night.

I'm going to be serious for a change which doesn't happen often but this voting for role model of the year is becoming a joke now, sorry to say its not even a vote for role model anymore its a muckers vs loys vote so sad

You know now that the winner is either going to be Josie or Elisa D'Ospina they are so far ahead of other candidates but which ever one wins i will wonder did they win because they are a role model or did they win because of feuding fans
