samsung galaxy w, wifi, 3g and mobile internet
Hi All
I was hoping you could advise me. I just got a samsung galaxy w and was wondering if it will automatically switch off the 3g and mobile internet when it found a wifi connection to which it could connect. I had the lg optimus and was downloading apps with it, when the phone bill arrived for more data than I had paid for. I always assumed that because I had it connected to the wifi at home, where I was doing most of my downloading, it wasn't connecting to the mobile internet, alas, it turned out that I had to manually switch off the 3g for my phone to use the wifi instead. There are some buttons on the Galaxy W that allows me to switch on and off the wifi and when I do so, when wifi is on the 3g disappears from the top of the screen, and when I switch wifi off 3g reappears. Does this mean that when connected to the wifi at home it won't access the mobile internet? Thanks in advance! |

Hello,
I've searched online for the Samsung Galaxy W manual to see if anything came up. I couldn't find anything; but I would assume if you are at home, and connected to WiFi then you would only be using your DSL connection; and not your 3G Internet connection. So long as you are connected to your WiFi at home; you shouldn't use any mobile data from your provider's allowance. I hope this helps! |

Hi 12december1984, thanks for your answer. This is what I assumed with my previous phone but it wasn't the case after all, as I notices in my phone bills which is why I'm a bit more weary this time around with that assumption.
