I thought that too, or at least that he was over-concentrating or counting or whatever - I was surprised the judges didn't pick on it, they usually do.

Actually, at the start of their dance, when she was being seductive and doing the stuff on the stairs it would have been very appropriate to make eye contact at certain points. Of course, during the hold part of the dance and during certain other moves it's obviously not appropriate. But in their choreo there was plenty of opportunity for eye contact at certain points, but she often seems to look down or away.

I loved it, I loved it just as much as I loved Harry's Quickstep.

He looked like he was concentrating. I think the facial expression could be improved on, but it is last on the list for me.
And no, I agree that you definitely do not gaze into each other's faces in ballroom. Follower should aways be looking upwards and sort of leftwards around the direction where her wristwatch would be (if she were wearing one). True there was some out of hold stuff where they could have gazed into each others' eyes, and so Linda does have a point (although you don't get that in real International Style ballroom, only in American Smooth, and so couldn't rely on that to relay chemistry in a proper ballroom performance. It would have to be done through synchronicity instead.)
I'm not overly keen on Artem's choreography.

A god-damn awful piece of music to dance a foxtrot to

I didn't notice what their dance was like, I was too busy desperately searching for the controller to turn down that awful screeching coming from the red haired woman in the band. There have been some dodgy vocals over the years but that one wins hands down. Absolutely awful. Get rid of that woman!!!!

The fact that I didn't know the music didn't spoil the dance at all for me - I thought it was fabulous.

I just love Artem's choreography, it's always innovative and interesting.

Holly doesn't excite the judges although she's a good dancer and her marks are good most weeks.

I remember last year the judges said Kara Tointon was holding back and she took their comments on board and she ranked it up a bit and she won. Perhaps Holly can do the same and turn up the heat but I can't see her winning. I think Kara's personality also helped her to win whereas Holly's personality is not quite as endearing, perhaps?

I didn't like it personally and the music was awful but at least wardrobe gave her a nice dress this week

We have to separate the awful music from the amazing choreography and execution of the choregraphy.

Bored? Bored? Do you really think she was 'bored' dancing in front of a live studio and TV audience?

Not far technically from Harry's Quickstep. I loved it too.

I love Holly's personality, but she's as good as she's going to get imo. She's done brilliantly to get this far, especially with all the drama but she's just a very average dancer to me, her frame is really poor and she's not brilliant in hold, but funnily, I really like her after saying all that.

I love Holly's personality. I am kind of obsessed with her tbh.

Watch this. She's very cool and funny. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-15895836

What was that ghastly song? Why did the woman singer screech so much? I turned the sound down!

The song ruined the dance for me, too much screeching and because of that I couldn't concentrate on their dance.

I agree - the awful screeching ruined the whole dance for me.

Exactly - that music was terrible and quite distracting, but I thought the dance itself was great.

I loved it too..they had chemistry, she looked stunning and it was much better than I thought it would be..I know they're not meant to be out of hold much in the foxtrot, but I really think Holly is fantastic out of hold, and she's definitely improved in hold too IMO. My favourite dance of the night, I hope they make it through to next week!

Me too. It was dramatic and well danced.

It was actually the most exciting dance all night for me, surprisingly. Holly's best dance IMO. She's not the best dancer (that's Chelsea) or the best performer (read gurner: that's Jason) and she doesn't have the unpolished but natural talent of Harry but for me she was the most exciting tonight.

Holly looked gorgeous tonight, and I could have happily watched her strike a few poses in that stunning dress for another 5 minutes or more, but I also found the routine rather dull.
I think Artem must feel like he's been given a Lamborghini, but can't get it out of second gear.
