I think only O2 does EDGE (considered to be 2.75G).
They implemented it because until very recently with the implementation of 3G900, their 3G coverage and speeds were quite awful so EDGE was a half-way house. |

Orange and Vodafone also provide EDGE coverage.
Perhaps when the Everything Everywhere network is replaced in the next few years T-Mobile customers will gain EDGE. http://www.v3.co.uk/v3-uk/news/20690...network-huawei |

At least it is on my iPhone anyway. |

The small 'O' you refer to is GPRS.
At least it is on my iPhone anyway. |

Thanks I always wondered what that meant I thought it said G or something for GPRS
Think it's always been a circle on the iPhone. |

On my Desire HD I get G for GPRS and H for HSDPA (3.5g - Mobile Broadband), never had an E.
However, when my fiancee had a blackberry she would always have an E. We're both on Tmobile |

Isn't Edge meant to be slightly faster than GPRS?
Did see an 'E' on my phone today, which doesn't happen often. |

If you're a T-Mobile customer, the only time you'll see EDGE is if you roam onto the Orange 2G network in an area where Orange has activated EDGE. Generally, I find that I'm almost never off 3G though, so it isn't a big issue.
