Sorry Waites girl, but it isn't exactly "that."
In the end it's the producer's choice, they balance the show to appeal to a very wide audience, (ratings again), I can accept that, so then it becomes a bit subjective.
The people appearing on the show, always follow the BBC "party line." Yes the dancers may say they choose the music, but it isn't quite like that, as someone else has said, the pros may suggest something, but they can't insist on dancing to it. Given some of the "choices" they must have been insane if they chose it, Eleanor Rigby a few years back, always comes to mind.
Someone on here a few years ago when this question came up as it does each year, said they'd read in the SCD annual that a dancer said that they
didn't choose the music. Mind you I think it was better then, but producers come and go.
Nor will you ever hear the dancers or the judges criticise the choice of music, though Len came close to it last night.
