Also, it seemed to be over so quickly! They'd barely started when Robbie and Ola were called to leave the floor. It felt too rushed to be any real test of stamina or inventiveness.

agreed with the order more or less although I thought Alex lasted longer than she should have done

So what is the criteria for judging the swingathon?

In the end it seemed to serve as a device to bump Alex up on the leaderboard, nothing more.

That said, Harry did very well (he's incredibly fit!).

It was nonsense and im sorry but i think the decision had already been made prior to the dancing.

In all fairness Austenfan, if the swingathon was all about stamina, given that they had only just finished a very energetic dance whilst all the others were resting, I think Harry and Aliona deserved to win.

Plus he's been my favourite (along with Chelsee) from the first episode

I quite liked it and definitely much more than last years! I thought the placings were about right with Harry winning and Chelsee runner up.

If that's really the case, then I don't think it worked. I'll have to double check the numbers, but from memory I don't think it made much difference.

It's rubbish, impossible to see all the couples so it ends up being judges favourites, so that's why Alex got so far when she was pants.
Chelsee and Pasha should have won, it was more dance than an acrobatic routine (which was what Aliona and Harry did)

I'd have given Chelsee or Jason top spot.

I would like the BBC studio floor team to try and find a different way of capturing all the action on the dance floor cos I found it really difficult to see what was going on so if I found it hard, I guess the rest of the GBP did unless their TVs got a different picture.

Please BBC, if SCD has another danceathon again, could someone work out how we can see all the dancers to compare by using some imaginative camera work? Split screen viewing maybe?????

Actually 'swing' dancing is pretty acrobatic.......Jitterbug, Lindy-hop, Boogie-woogie etc.

I know that - but Harry and Aliona's was all acrobatic with NO dancing, that's not the point of a swingathon for me at least

There was lots of dancing. His kicks were brilliant.

Its an opportunity for the judges to tinker with the scoring.

I suspected the judges may use it to decide the leaderboard according to their favourites.

Harry was outstanding and I am not a fan - I do not understand how Alex stayed in so long.

In the confusion I did not really notice Robbie & Anita but Ola and Brendan were steaming.

Harry and Aliona were miles the best right from the start.

When you are at the mercy of camera angles it's not the same as if you were at a competition - you can't choose what you watch. It's one where we really have to rely on the judges to get it spot on.

Did anyone see Ola's face when her and Robbie were voted off the floor first...she wasn't happy!!

A gazillion times better than last years mess!!

I do wonder why they bought it back though... it clearly didnt work last time.

I agree Alex stayed in too long. Harry was the deserved winner of that...

I wholeheartedly agree. Chelsee and Pasha were fantastic throughout. Maybe it's because I'm a Chelsee fan, maybe it's also because I'm a girl but I always think a celebrity female should win these type of things. It's too easy for Aliona to have Harry fling her in the air for five minutes especially after a demanding Quickstep and going last but Pasha actually gave himself and Chelsee something to do. Like always she executed the dance fantastically and held herself up well with Pasha which again in something like this is probably harder for the celebrity female to do. I'm sorry Harry and Aliona but you didn't deserve the 7 and Chelsee and especially Pasha were robbed. His choreography just isn't being praised enough and thoughts of it are being shelved by some judges whereas it would have been praised in other series'

Really not fair on them

There were too many couples. Five couples would have been more managable IMO.

I loathe, the Swingathon. It's clearly just a chance for the judges to interfere. Agreed more or less with the result, though...this time.

I don't really think anything - I didn't get to see enough of any of the celebs dancing to have an opinion
