Unfortunately what she said is going to sound like she's clueless. But that is precisely how these competitions get judges.”

I agree.

I think Jason should have gone out even earlier than he did. Right from the start (and the director showed him early on) he was off time. And again when cut to him he was out of rhythm.

The one thing the Swingathon did was flip Jason and Chelsee on the leader board, so in that regards it did have an effect.

Yup. The Swingathon is the closest SCD comes to being an actual dance competition. Most of the time SCD is a cross between a variety show and pro-wrestling (with all the "worked" comments by the "judges".)

No secret I am a Chelsee and Pasha supporter, but I was rather impressed with Harry esp having just come off this QS. Would I have liked to see C & P win yup. and their danced was smacked full of content and once again Pasha showed his choreo chops and he should be praised on them more. That said I was happy enough with the placings.

I think it's just a vehicle for the judges to try and manipulate the leaderboard.

It's another stunt to add 'interest'. Next Saturday we have movie week.

After watching one couple dance for 1:30 they can't agree. It's simply amazing how the 4 judges can decide so quickly who's out in the swingathon.

So cynical but so true - having said that I did think Harry deserved to win but Robbie & Anita may feel aggrieved

I oved the swingathon but couldnt help thinkin all the way through it that Harry and Aliona must have been at a huge disadvantage . It wasnt fair on them to have to dance back to back

I agree. They certainly used it to bump Alex up the leader board. Agree with those that say she should have been out sooner. Having watched it back, I think that after Robbie being out it should have been Holly. She wasn't doing anything at all, apart from lazily recreating a few steps from her jive and then being flung about by Artem. Next should have been Alex, then Anita and Jason. They got it right with Chelsee and Harry being last two, but the elimination before them was a farce.

Not because it was predictable based on the judges engineering the leaderboard (which I'm pretty sure happened last year) but from what I could see of the dancing.
Robbie was weak from the start - off time and not very sharp on the kicks and flicks. Anita lasted a little longer but went off time and her technique wasn't great. Holly tired very quickly and lost the energy of the dance. Jason then tired and also went off time. Alex really wasn't doing a bad job, she was in time and keeping up with James. She would have gone before Jason if he hadn't tired out and lost time. It was a close run thing between Chelsee and Harry - both remained on time and did challenging routines, but Chelsee was starting to look a bit more tired and heavy footed just before she went. Overall Harry was a worthy winner and is clearly very fit and full of stamina to dance that after doing that quickstep.”

BIB: me too! Robbie was dreadful from the start and Holly looked like a sack of potatoes by the time she was voted off.

From what I saw, Harry upped his game a bit when there were fewer couples left and did more dance steps, whereas he appeared to be doing more lifts and athletic stuff earlier on. Good move I think! Till nearly the end I would have said Chelsee and Pasha were the best but I think Harry and Aliona snuck in towards the end.

the thing is we only see what the camera men want us to see

so the judges see a lot more then what we see on the tv

I was about to post the same. Just a device for the judges to reajust the scoreboard.

I really dont get this whole fix thing, everytime i saw a couple and thought they should go next they did.

Harry & Aliona deserved to finish first, it was a very athletic routine, and must have been a lot of work, especially after doing the quick step, and just had a wow factor that was just not there in Pasha and Chelseas routine. You could tell that by the audience wowwing everytime they did a cartwheel etc.

Ola and Robbie deserved to go first as they were just lost in between couples that stood out more, and everytime they showed them they just looked a bit messy and out of time.

I think Anita and Brendan suffered from the same as above, but due to the age and the new professional, you had to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Holly and Artem when ever they were shown always looked messy in the change overs they were doing, and seemed to be always just jumping over each other, but there was more technical elements than the previous ones.

The clip before Jason and Kristina were sent off shows that he was messing up the arms, and getting a bit out of time, so again it was there time.

I agree that it seemed that Alex was always in the air, but it was in time, and it must take its toll having to hold your position in the air, and at the same time keep a good frame.

Pasha and Chelsea again had a good technical routine, and deserved second place, they just didnt have the wow factor, or sheer athleticism of Harry and Aliona.

It's good fun but it is a pity that they can't devise something less random that does not have such a dramatic effect on the scoring.

Six points between first and last is a lot. Perhaps only the last three getting scores of 3, 2 and 1?

I have to agree with you. Think Alex should have been first out and Jason one of the last three. Can't help thinking the judges are very partial to Chelsee. She's good technically but she doesn't seem to put much of herself into the dances.
