Amelia was amazing.* Janet fans on the forum prepare to use the "she was shouting" excuse to criticise Amelia's performance*

I don't think she was amazing, I mean I was disappointing with Since You Been Gone as she was dodging notes and not singing them as high as the original.

Not saying she done bad though

Thought she was amazing.

Since U Been Gone is a challenge even for Kelly, it's more of a performance song, rather than Vocal, Amelia delivered a great performance and her vocals were solid.

As somebody who is impartial about who wins this year I would say Amelia was the best followed by Misha.

First song excellent, second song very shouty.

Her first song was fantastic. I love the song, and thought she did it justice. Easily one of my favourites of the series.

Her second was extremely out of tune, even if it is a somewhat difficult song to sing. It amazes me that the judges (Gary and Kelly, I'm looking at you) can complain about slight pitch problems with some acts but then completely ignore Amelia's issues in the second song.

The first was good, the second was average.

As others have said, her first song was good, second was a bit of a mess.

I virtually never like Misha's performances but tonight I actually thought she was much better than Amelia.

So - nothing to admit. Amelia was exactly the same as always. Noisy.

Couldn't fault her, she nailed both songs!

Sorry no. Good luck to the girl, but I think she's old fashioned. Very 80's power ballad. I think her voice is overrated, she belts everything out and there's no variation or texture to her voice, She went out of tune a bit on the second number.

GOOD yes. Great not quite.

Loved China (apart from the shouty bit in the middle) but not keen on Since U Been Gone.
Little Mix and Marcus pipped her with Beautiful and I'm Your Man.

She was her usual shouty self, that being said no one else had a particularly good night tonight...

She was appalling. And she's a tart. I hope she's voted off immediately.

Amelia was amazing in comparison to Janet. I personally thought both songs were really weak. First song sounded like Amelia doing an impression and the second one was far too shouty.

At least she wasn't forgetting her lines

I agree. I'm no Amelia fan but her first song was the 2nd/3rd best of the night but her second one wasn't so good. It was better than Janet's first performance and both of Marcus's though.

This is it. No texture, no variation, no light and shade. Just loud. And very out of tune on her second song.

She was great tonight, loved China in your Hand.

Better than Janet by several country miles. I always find Janet such a sulky performer and it's always the same, whatever song she sings it sounds the same. Janet couldn't hit a high note if one jumped out at her.

Hitting a high note is not the sign of a great singer, it's just where your vocal range is. I think her range is limited. Great singers can make every note clear, the lower register is actually more difficult to master, to get volume and texture, higher notes are difficult to do gently or melodically, shouting is what inexperienced singers do. I think if she had proper coaching with tone and work on the lower register, she would improve.
