So, while cleaning my cat's litter tray, I found a strange object...

A rusty cat collar bell that definitely doesn't belong to my cat. It was obviously packaged in with the paper chips bedding.

I've got horrible images of the bell being the only thing left after some poor cat got caught in the cat litter factory's machine. I can't fathom how it found its way into the bag.

I'm a bit worried because my cat could have investigated and choked on such a small item.

Anyone else found weird things in their pet supplies?

Have you eaten chinese food recently and only cleared the plates away the following morning? Might explane.

Are you sure the cat didn't swallow it, and it came out the other end? My kitten eats all sorts of things he shouldn't if I don't catch him in time. My nephew wants me to search through the litter tray to find his missing poppy lapel pin, as it went missing when he was round my house and he is convinced Archie swallowed it.

Mind you, my nephew is only 3 years old so he may be getting a bit confused - as am I after a night down the pub!!! Fruity60d's reply hasn't helped my alcohol addled brain either.

You wouldn't believe the stuff I have found in our litter tray:

1. Multicoloured cat muck - when they have eaten a rubber spider with coloured rubber legs.
2. A £10 note.
3. Rubber bands (that I think they have eaten)
4. Tinsel
5. Bits of grass

Well the other morning I went to wash my face and found my face soap had gone missing.

I was very confused... until I found it in the cat litter when I empied it later in the day. (The litter is in the bathroom, but still!)

Have taken to hiding my soap now.

One of our cats, Katie, when we were on holiday ate her entire collar apart from the bell. We got a text from the cat sitter saying she couldn't find the bell. Thank goodness katie hadn't eaten it and it turned up under the sofa.

Oh good Lord the stories about the strange things cats eat are a real shock to me! How on earth did your cat manage to eat her entire collar!?!

But.....

It absolutely wasn't passed by my cat. I don't own anything with bells like that (my cat is a house cat), and it was in a very clean section of litter, and was dry and clean as a whistle. It's so bizarre.

Nothing in Thomas's tray so far (that I have seen)

But he once had a bit of cotton half in and half out of his bottom , which I had to take out by hand using kitchen towel...Not the first time (used to have a cat when I lived at home who had the same thing but with a stringy bit of plastic) and I'm sure it won't be the last time

We had to do the same when our dog scoffed some Chinese left on a plate on the floor, I was convinced our dog had some weird worm infestation until I examined (yuk) it closely and realised the worms were in fact beansprouts!

I found a bone in my guinea pigs bag of hay.

Not weird stuff that she eats, but I'm careful to never leave anything on the bathroom floor, because after our cat uses her tray she will create a pile on top of 'it' - cotton wool pads, an empty loo roll, socks that had been drying on the radiator, even bits of paper from the little recycling box by the back door. I've no idea how she moves the stuff, by mouth presumably but I never see her pick anything up by mouth usually.

Oh, except for my sons pants Whenever she can get hold of a pair, whether dirty or clean, she picks them up by mouth and runs off with them. No idea why!! I found a few pairs behind the sofa last time I hoovered behind it.
