I prefer the look of Converse to Vans, but they are sooo uncomfortable! I've had mine for a few months and they can still give me blisters!

Please tell me you're thinking of getting proper skate trainers, e.g. Vans http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=van...w=1024&bih=545 and not those flimsy canvas plimsoll thingies that are now so fashionable but years ago they were complete pariahs?

When I was about 15 I used to wear both, Vans were way more comfortable. Depends what look your going for, Converse look stupid on some people.

I have a pair of both. I've worn my Converse much more as they go more with my general look. Having said that, my Vans were very useful when I broke my foot earlier this year - they were all my foot would fit in once the plaster and everything was off.

Haven't really worn them since though.

I'd go Vans!

I have a pair of Converse but I don't really wear them anymore, and I agree that they can be uncomfortable. Bloody love my Vans (these ones!).

Go with Vans. They're super comfy. I've found Converse to pinch and rub quite a bit.

Converse look cool but you can't walk any distance in them!

I have pairs of Vans, Sketchers, Nike 6.0 etc but Merrells are the comfiest shoes I have ever worn!

I always find I have to go a size up when buying Vans, it does make it them difficult to buy because most shops don't stock size 14. I don't know if anyone else has the problem with having to size up but it is something to consider.

I'm the opposite, I have to go a size down!

I have some of them; they're comfortable and hard wearing and not unduly showy if you see what I mean (i.e. no lurid fluorescent colours ).

Converse are classics. You could equally say they're 1996, 1986 etc

They're are one of the few trainers that aren't chavvy. Vans on the other hand.... very Goldie Looking Chain...

Converse are a wardrobe staple for many people who don't want to wear trainers. I actually think Converse are slightly more grown up than Vans, personally. Converse All Stars have been around for decades(first pair were sold in 1917) and will never go away, something that can still be worn and bought nearly 100 years later is obviously not doing too badly in the popularity stakes.
