I thought Misha was very good but...

I just watched her again and would have preferred if she'd done the Roberta Flack version.
That would have showed off her voice even more. Misha's version she performed was the Fugees version (but it wasnt) - as it just had the backing but not the rap.
There's no denying Misha is a very good performer. I havent heard her Guilty Pleasure song yet but in the recap I noticed she sang "We all wanna have fun" and it still fits

Thought it was her weakest performance but hoping she has enough votes to go through.

It wasn't one of Misha's best but it was still better than Little Mix and Janet.

Her guilty pleasures performance was the best of the night though, IMO.

Me too. Her and the piano and strings and it would have soared. Then again, I prefer the original to the Fugees version anyway. I do love Lauryn Hill, and I guess that Lauryn is one of Misha's heroes.

Thats what I thought too.
I watched her 1st song and it was a lot of fun and very good She must have added the rap herself.
One of the better performances of the night with Amelia (China In Your Hand) IMO.

The first song was a disorganised mess, absolutely dreadful...

The second song on the other hand was the best thing she's done so far by a long way, I nearly made out all the words for a start!

It's really unfortunate a large part of the voting public haven't taken to her, but I suppose that's the nature of the X Factor beast. It'll be a major surprise if she isn't bottom two tonight - but I said that last week, so who knows?

I thoght Mischa was terrific in both performances last night. She so much more versatile than the other girls.

I thought Misha and everyone else was good last night, but having heard Denise Van Outen saying on Xtra Factor that she just can't warm to Misha, I agree with Denise, there is just 'something' about Misha that prevents me from supporting/liking her!

This I don't really understand, and I'm not having a go at you or Denise. I couldn't care less about warmth or anything like that. It's a matter if can you sing/perform to a calibre I enjoy.

If I really think about it, very few of the artists I enjoy have a lot of the likeability factor people seem to tout, but they are all very successful artists. Then again, they didn't rely on a talent contest to get votes.

Exactly - if Gaga, Madonna, Michael Jackson auditioned for X Factor they'd be out within weeks. Gaga too weird, Madonna not strong enough vocally and MJ's quiet, odd personality.

I'm pretty sure Misha will go on to have a decent career off the back of X Factor. It didn't do Cher Lloyd any harm, and in retrospect I think I was way, way too harsh on her last year. It's taken Misha being on the show for me to realise that it really shouldn't be about personality - it should be about stage presence, performances, star quality and originality. But it isn't - which explains why we have winners like Leon Jackson and Joe McElderry.

I didn't get the Cher hate either. In a way, I thought she was too overhyped, but that wasn't her fault. I loved her audition, loved most of her performances and I thought it was crazy that people should think she should stand there like one of the Von Trapps while she did the kind of music she did.

People like the "Aw Bless" aspect. Do you think someone as prickly and spiky as Annie Lennox would have done well on a show like this? (I have heard Annie Lennox live in a TV studio. WOW! It truly has to be heard to be believed. Leona Lewis was performing in that same studio that night and Annie just blew the roof off the place. Leona does have an incredible voice though.)

I understood some of the "hate" at the time because she did have a not-very-nice personality (at least that's how it came across onscreen) and I didn't think her rapping was that good - all her raps and performances were ripped off other people for example. But looking back, she was the best performer there, had the most stage presence and the most star quality. But I suppose it's good for her that she didn't win - she's doing pretty well. Good for her.

I agree, she doesn't have the likeability factor, & that's very important.
I have to say I have the same vibe for Amelia, just can't take to her at all.

She wouldn't have been able to do it as it would have required some subtlety which she hasn't got

Did you read my post?

I said I felt that same way about Amelia. Just for the record I don't like Janet either.
However as this thread is about Misha............

I think Misha puts her own spin on whatever she sings, that is what I like so much about her. Obviously some songs are going to be better than others but last night she was terrific. In my opinion.

I agree the character and likeability of a person is important, but perhaps not THE most important thing. When you perform/sing on stage, isnt it a bit like acting? But maybe the more real a performance is, the better it will seem. This can depend on a number of things, the song itself, and how its delivered.
