Why didn't Perrie go through on her own?

I can't understand why Perrie didn't make it through as a solo, her voice is gorgeously amazing.

Little Mix are a little bit hit and miss as a group, last night they really didn't blend well together and sounded a bit of a mess on both songs.

It's only when Perrie sings on her own that saves it. Don't get me wrong, the others aren't awful singers but not as strong as Perrie and as a group their harmonies don't always come together tight enough. Last week was strong but it's going to be hard for them with two songs each week now.

It's clear who out of the group will be the first to leave to go solo

I know, she's easily one of the best female singers of this series so it's a bit shocking she wasn't considered good enough to go through as a solo act.

She has an incredible range and sounds a bit like Christina, imo.

Because they had already chosed a blonde female soloist from the North-East.

I kind of agree - if anything, her voice her doesn't seem to match the other three. I don't know much about singing, so maybe it's good to have someone with a deep and powerful voice, but to me it's like she doesn't blend very well.

however, she did cop out a bit when singing the shiiiine bit in beautiful, she went into a higher register rather than belt it like christina does. I don't think her voice is amazing, and her look and tone reminds me of 80s Supercuts Dorothy.

As part of a group shes like 'wow amazing' but I don't think she would be as powerful as Misha B or Amelia as a soloist.

She lacks 'star quality' on her own

Actually, the girls have already said once they depart the competition they are ALL sticking together. And I think It's good that Perrie is in Little Mix because I couldn't see it any other way

i think she gains the confidence to reach her full potential within a band scenario. as solo artists maybe they didn't have that "spark" to cut the mustard (although they are certainly stronger than many of the solo acts we've seen along the way).

i'm a musician and i know that when i'm playing in a band or ensemble i feed off the collective vibe/confidence and it generally makes me feel like i have the right platform to express myself

She's great, but wouldn't stand out as well as a solo artist. I think a group was the best place for her. Exactly the same thing was said about the awesome Phoebe Brown from Hope a few years ago. She shone in a group, but as a solo artist would have been really forgettable.

She has a strong voice but I wouldn't call it a beautiful one. I don't think her singing ability is as good as other female soloists so think being a group suits her.

Too much competition in the girls'.

&
They had already found their chosen quirky princess...she was beaten in the quirky factor.

She has a fantastic voice, a likeable enough personality, and is better looking than most of the other finalists.

She should have been a solo act, but the judges have well and truly screwed it up this year.

Probably because the producers had already decided they wanted to creat a girl band and needed a very strong lead vocalist.

As they were planing on making a band they need at least one strong vocalist. (edit: i see that point's already been made ) And she probably would have went the way of Sophie Habibas - labelled as boring then voted out early and forgotten.

I think she's an average singer, seriously overrated.

Janet can't dance though so wouldn't be so good in a girl group

I think we have to be thankful that Tulisa put through strong female singers for her groups, makes up for the terrible decisions that Kelly made.

I agree with you about Perrie she is standing out more and more as the weeks go on but Jesy was pitched as the rapper and it seemed they were going in that direction but obviously its thought they should try different juenrers.

I wonder, is it possible they kept some of the best female soloists out just so they could make a good girl group?

I can't recall seeing any of them at auditions or bootcamp.

They only showed a snippet of Perrie's audition. Jesy was shown briefly talking to camera at the start of bootcamp during the group challenge, but that's about it. It wasn't like 1D where Harry and Liam's auditions were shown on the main show.

She'd have been voted out in week 1 if she'd been performing as a soloist. Her power comes from being in a group, where she's the stand-out vocalist.
