How do I go about updating my Android version from 2.3.3 to latest version 2.3.5? This phone is on contract with Orange and is two months old. Thanks very much |

Agreed. Just plug it into Kies and it should update. The update was released for O2 and Orange on the 14th November.

Semi-related question please.
If you buy a SIM free or PAYG handset, are you more likely to get firmware updates quicker from the manufacturer, than you would if the phone is on contract? I'm dithering over a SIM free SGS2 purchase and it's a factor in my deliberations. I'm still in a contract and not sure if I want to take another one (contract) out at the end of it and get a locked handset that might be slow for upgrades. Thanks. |

All contract phone users have to wait for the major networks to add all their bloatware and other unwanted stuff. |

Yes you will Asifzed, when Samsung release a Firmware update, all unlocked phoned get it instantly
All contract phone users have to wait for the major networks to add all their bloatware and other unwanted stuff. I'm currently with VM and, with my query in mind, if I opted for the phone on contract in a few months time, are there any particular networks who drag their heels in releasing firmware changes to phones? Who should I avoid? I'd be quite content with Android Gingerbread since I've seen it instore (the Samsung overlay is fine), but just don't want to be months behind the times if a major upgrade is released. |
