They tend stand in the order they performed on Saturday - the act which performed first to the left; the act which performed second to the right. The earlier acts tend to be the ones the producers are aiming to lose, so are almost always on the left.

Saying that if Little Mix are in the bottom two tonight with Janet I'm sure they'll stay, even though they should be standing on the left.
