It's sad that Bryan Kirkwood's best episodes aren't based around a good storyline

Others might have different opinions about this, but Billie's death aftermath, the Manya affair reveal, and Branning Week aren't based around good storylines, but its just because of Simon Ashdown!

We've had some good episodes, but under Bryan (Especially this year), none of the storylines have been good, its just the episodes written by Simon that are outstanding!

Billie's death was great - superb acting all round - but I don't understand why they did it.

I thought the story was a little rushed, tbh.

I agree with you AM32.

He hasn't had any good storylines really. They've all been poor. It's his biggest failing. He's made some good castings decisions (and some bad) but he's really let the cast down with the lack of exciting storylines. Hopefully we're about to see a turnaround in that respect with Phil's stalker and the other upcoming plots.

Another example for me anyway would be Lydia's death episode but the whole storyline was completely random.

Yes, I hope so.

I agree. BK's produced a few very good episodes but no memorable storylines.

I have to agree, there have been a few faultless episodes, but that's been down to the episode writer (Ashdown for more or less all of them) and the show's best actors. There haven't really been any gripping, block-busting plots this year.
