Call me naive but i never knew this, is it true? All along i thought the sunday results show was live??

What gets me is how well they keep the result secret.

It is .. I tell my friends who I think will go and they think I am marvellous getting it right every week ... none of them know its on the forum Sat night about 10.30, so don't go on if you don't want to know !

Gosh it would be easy to joke and say "welcome to Earth" - but it just goes to show theres still a lot of people out there who dont know its recorded. I do wish the Beeb would come clean a little bit. And, Yes OP dont go in the SPOILER thread that emerges every week after abt 10pm on a Saturday night if you want to save yourself for the results show.

I must say i thought it was a bit pointless in them getting all dressed up and stuff exactly as they did on the saturday night, all the time and effort that goes into hair, make up and dress, for just a 30 minute show with no dancing. I honestly did think it was live on sunday.

Yeah I thought that for the first couple of years, but then of course came here and found out the truth (Ive been a lurker for years )

I believe its pretty well live although someone might correct me. Theres always a few seconds delay in the time it takes to broadcast, but as far as I know thats all.

Yep, it's recorded on a Saturday & the results can be found in multiple places across the internet about 10.30pm......

Bit of a clue in that the lines always close before 9pm on a Saturday so they can record the results show!

To be honest, I dont really "get" why they dont just broadcast a second show later on. I suspect it has to do with ratings against their rival tv show on the other channel, but I dont know that for a fact. On the one hand Id rather they did that, on the other, I cant resist a sneaky peak in the SPOILER thread on a Saturday night, cos Im one of those that just HAS to know a.s.a.p.

Lol im amazed, ive seen the spoiler thread but never clicked on it, but did wonder what it was for. And i never knew there was a reason why they closed the lines for 9pm, i never took any notice of it

They need to bring back the dance off, the sunday results just seems pointless and i rarely watch it all.

I have to admit, I went to my olds today (they are in their 80s and love the show even though they cant really see or hear it properly! bless) and they refused to let me tell them the result cos they wanted to watch it on tv. I was in a taxi on my way home when it started, although I did catch the end because I like Anita, half the time I dont watch it.

Ahem: the announcement at the beginning of the Saturday Show is "Live from TVC" - well, Wenbley last week, natch. Nowhen does Alan's voiceover on the Result Show say it's live: no foul, no crime!
