The Stand-In Red-Haired Singer...
SCD-Observer

...she was the redeeming feature of Holly and Artem's bizarre 'foxtrot' routine with a stealth lift in the beginning. Her voice was amazing and 100% pitched perfect for a very difficult song.

Yes, J Marie Cooper was pretty damn amazing wasn't she, fabulous voice. Hope she gets to 'stand in' more often.

Yes, thanks SCD-Observer for raising the subject - if you hadn't, I'd have raised it myself. And I'd have posed the question of her identity, so thanks whirlygirl for that info. Outstanding voice, outstanding singing, I hope we get to see more of her.

I genuinely thought the band had got the song list mixed up ,I saw no relationship between the song and the dance .I watched it after with no sound and it was so much nicer .I hated that song ,

I thought she sang it really well,
And I loved Holly & Artem's dance. It wasn't traditional music/choreography, but I thought it really worked and suited Holly.

Disliked the dance, but I watched it again because of the singer! Amazing voice that woman!

I don't subscribe to either, so I can't really view facebook. Never understand twitter.

What else did she sing? Was it "rolling in the deep"? That really impressed me too. I thought, hang on, that's a more than usually powerful voice...belted high notes were spec-tac-u-lar!

She was a belter, to be sure! Hayley sounds good with songs sung by, say, Amy Winehouse, but that red-haired Marie was a high-note hitter. More of her, please!

Yes I thought she sang that one fantastically well - I'm a HUGE Adele fan and that's the best I've ever heard anyone sing 'Rolling In The Deep' apart from Adele herself. Really strong voice and yes those high notes were something else.

Please can we have her back again!!!

A beautiful voice. I didn't like the dance but I could watch it all over again just to hear her

Judging by the info on the 'net, she's a lot more than just a "session" singer, so I suspect this was a bit of a one-off appearance (pity!). Having said that, it would be brilliant if the BBC asked her back as a guest singer for the results show.

Loved Holly and Artem's dance but couldn't stand the screeching - I turned the sound to mute. OK some people like her voice but this, in my opinion, is why H and A were in the bottom two.

Who agrees with me?

I just did (on iplayer)! She's far more than any old belter, just listen to the vocal gymnastics. Watch for Hayley applauding enthusiastically at the end!

Singer? There was a singer? You could've fooled me.

Yes, judging by the many adverse comments on this forum, the choice of music may well have put a lot of people off. For a start, it's not normal Foxtrot music, but also, this kind of music isn't everyone's cup of tea - especially at full bore and with complex vocal gymnastics.

I don't agree with the term "screeching" though - there are plenty of singers who would screech if they tried to do what she did (Hayley - bless her heart - for one). It was the fact that she didn't screech that sets her apart.
