Can someone please tell me if the voting lines close at the same time every single week? if so what time is that.

I have a feeling and so does my son that the lines closed at least 4 minutes before we anticipated they would, we could of course be wrong so I am hoping someone can tell me.

it should do then everyone knows where they stand ,

but to be fair we get plenty of time to get our votes in

Yes but you may be missing my point, someone posted on here there was 15 minutes to go, I replied to that person as either she was wrong or as my son said they shut the lines early. That could be for several reasons I am sure, but could it be the voting was just too close and they did not want someone to be in the bottom who may have had they remained open for a further 4 to 5 mins. I thought they closed at 8.45pm, well they were closed by 8.38 we think here.

Just thought I would ask as it was noticeable.

Curious... they wouldn't just close one or two lines early, I hope! That could be pretty effective...

My daughter tried to vote at 8.15 and got a "this service is no longer available" message.

But I don't know what time they actually closed.

Sorry, just meant to reply, not quote.

Dermot said the lines were closed and it was before what I thought was the normal time each week, if that is the case was there an act who could have fallen into the bottom 2 who they did not want there? ie Janet would not have been bottom at all, it is just a question not fact, although I know I posted that they were closed on here and the post is timed, I was replying to someone who said 15 mins til lines close, when they closed I went to find her post as she was wrong.

As I say my son also said they have closed early WHY.. I just said no idea, but it is a theory on why.

Pay attention to the show
Dermot always says "your 5 minute warning".
And the lines are invariably closed right at the end of the ad break, because at the start of the next part Dermot says "Lines are now closed" !

Yes but you are not getting me, they normally close at 8.45pm each week so why did they close around 8.37pm it stood out for me as being odd..

Dermot didnt give the five minute warning tonight.

THANK you so much, as I did not think he did.. sorry this makes me even more sceptical than normal.

Why did he not give it, and why did they close I am sure earlier than normal. There was something adrift which is why I noticed it.

There definitely was a 5 minute warning as I remember joking about it at the time he said it.

They would never close that late anyway. They usually go to break at around 8.45 after revealing the bottom two, and then have the head to head when they come back at around 8.48.

8.37 closing time sounds far more appropriate.

They shut the same time tonight as every other week. about 8.35ish.

People just love a good conspiracy theory don't they!! :P

Yeah, there was a five minute warning after Jessie J performed.

Okay if that is the time they close each week then fine, but we thought here that they were earlier than usual. I only heard Dermot say they were closed, so did not hear his warning.

That was at about 8.20, which would mean voting did close early? Would also explain why I didnt hear it as I turned over when Jessie J was on.

You know I thought it was me going nuts but my 17 year old commented on it, there was something adrift somewhere.

Interesting to see what the percentage between third and fourth was : if it was very close, you're on to something

Ok, so whos gonna call Ofcom?

If we are going to buy into ridiculous theories, whos to say it was Misha who could have been heading away from the bottom two?

This is all so silly.

But when would they have had another chance to close the voting? Surely not after the charity single because that wouldn't leave enough time to prepare for the outcome (the results were straight after the ads) . Also it would be in bad taste to have voting continuing throughout the charity performance.

Because they didn't send it to deadlock, which means Misha finished last in the vote.

I have already said Euro I am going to be very interested to see the voting figures, especially for tonight. I am not clutching at straws here, I am not even a major Janet fan, but I have a feeling she may have not been that far from not being in the bottom at all. To the person who thinks it could have been Misha in that position it well could have been, but I think they wanted Janet out TOO badly, it was made too obvious.

They didn't send it to deadlock because the majority of judges who voted felt that Misha had performed better, simple as that.
