First of im not a major fan of Janet and am not too bothered she is gone but i think tonight she should have saved because in the past Simon Cowell has often said to contestants the fact you have been in the botton 2 a few times now shows the public arent supporting you.

To be fair i think that should have been applied, Janet was never in the bottom 2 so far where Misha was 3 times i think so in that respect one of the judges should have picked up on it.

Also i thought the sing off was all about previous performances been forgotten about but tonight both louis and tulisa based their verdict on the performances on the night before aswell which in a way is against what the sing off is all about.

But look all that aside,im not a misha or janet supporter and wasnt bothered with who left i just thought it was a tiny bit unfair on janet.

Agreed. The rules bend to fit TPTB's whims.

I think a formal rule of 'Three strikes and you're out' should come into effect from series onward, tbh.

They only use that argument for mediocre or bad acts.
Misha is top notch, she simply doesn't deserve to be in the bottom two.
People have a problem with her as a person and I agree she isn't very likable but she perform miles better than anyone else. Especially compared to Janet who messed up quite a few of her performances.
The right person went today.

I know some of us aren't happy about it but one of them was going home, but next week, Misha should enjoy the semi-final as much as she can, cause she's not going to the Final.

It's all about keeping the one who'll give more interesting performances or potential headlines for the show. Simon Cowell opted to keep Katie Waissel over Aiden when she was in the bottom 2 for the 4th time last year so fairness is of no concern on the X Factor.

Is there a sing off next week or is just the one with the least votes goes?

Depends where Misha comes in the vote.

Well it does like they are doing everything they can to keep Misha in.

No, Janet should have gone, because out of those in the bottom two, thats who the judges decided to send home. Simple as that. A past judge may have decided differently but thats irrelevant. It is what it is. Janet is gone fair and square.

I would agree with you normally but this case is different. Ever since Tulisa made the bully speach, Misha has struggled despite her being one of the best on the show. Tulisa in effect put one hell of a damper on Misha and I think it was very unfair to do it so publicly.

If it is about talent then Mischa can wipe the floor with them all, but sadly the tabloids and Tulisa have made sure she is unpopular. Sad but I think she will do well after the contest. No way should Janet have stayed after last night's car crash performance.

That's seriously your input? Just ignore the subject and insult the OP?

Grow up.

They've been biased towards Misha from the start. It's killed my like of the show in any way. Last year the farce was Kaitie, this year it's Misha. And they wonder why the ratings have gone down. I won't be watching next year that's for sure. And I would discourage anyone from voting - what's the point when an act could basically always get the lowest votes and be kept in till the finals. Utter rubbish, X Factor's a scam.

Yes she did, because the audience didn't like her performances enough to put her through. Saving an act once, maybe even twice, is generally understandable. A complacent fanbase, poor song choice, illness, etc. But it was her third time in the bottom two from seven shows. It's crystal clear that the audience think her time is well and truly up.

I agree, why bother to vote when the judges will save someone three times, it makes no sense to me at all, they are totally ignoring the public, which for me is pretty damning, it makes it all a total farce.

I think both girls will do well, as for fairness, maybe, had it not been for Tulisa and Louis's outburst at Misha, she not have been so unpopular. As far as I can see, the panel made her a target for the media, so maybe that is the unfairness here. I can say this without bias, as I preferred Janet, with her distinctive voice, but try not to judge the others on the strength of the tabloid and red top press. Of those remaining, I think Misha has the best vocals, and prefer to use my own judgement on her personality.

I'm wondering if Janet had sung her two songs better on Saturday and she was still in the bottom two with Misha..........would the outcome have been different. What I mean is would they have got away with saving Misha over Janet as Misha had been in the bottom two twice before.

As Janet didn't have a very good night on Saturday they kind of used that against her imo. (mind you, she was pretty dire).

Not a fan of either Janet or Misha btw

Nah, they would have saved Misha anyway. They've been trying to get rid of Janet forever. And Misha would pretty much have been saved over anyone.

Then you probably have nothing constructive to offer to the discussion Seriously, what's the point in replying to a thread, where the OP is looking for discussion, to point out grammar flaws?
