I can't help but wonder who everyone thinks triumphs this year in regards to Uk vs the first US X Factor. I remember when the US X Factor started, everyone was proclaiming how much more talent the Yanks had compared to us who were stuck with dregs like Frankie, Goldie and David Wilder. And yet I was watching the top 9 performances and I couldn't help but think, "I much prefer our own top 9 overall". Here's how I'd personally rank all 18 acts (with Amelia replacing Frankie)

1. Amelia Lily
2. Craig Colton
3. Chris Rene
4. Josh Krajcik
5. Marcus Collins
6. Leroy Bell
7. The Risk
8. Kitty Brucknell
9. Rachel Crow
10. Johnny Robinson
11. Melanie Amauro
12. Little Mix
13. Janet Devlin
14. Misha B
15. Drew
16. Lakoda Rayne
17. Marcus Canty
18. Astro

Yeah. Overall, I personally think we got it better than the Americans, although this is excluding the previous American Idols which has seen 3 of my favourite performers (Kelly Clarkson, Chris Daughtry, Adam Lambert) make a name for themselves.

Opinions?

Misha B, 14th, LMAO... Misha B is the best across all shows. And that comes from an Aussie.

I haven't been following the US version much, but from what I've seen, I think Drew could be far better than anyone to have been on the UK version since Alexandra Burke. (Though I haven't see all of Drew's performances, so I could be wrong)

I've gone off XF USA. Watched the first few weeks, but got bored quickly. I prefer our dramatics!

Yeah, Misha B is my least favourite UK contestant in the competition this year. I'm not seeing the hype with her to be perfectly honest.

Granted, I am basing my opinion on the top 9 performance. Her performance in that particular show didn't grab me, but maybe I don't have enough evidence to make an opinion just yet.

I just wanted to make a thread where we could compare the contestants across both countries really.

Love the US show.

JOSH is by miles the most talented between the both shows...

Gravelly voices don't appeal to everyone. I think he shouts rather than sings more often than not, and even when he's not shouting he's a stranger to melody. Better acts have come out of AI over the years, such as Chris Daughtry and David Cook.

UK over the US but AUS was the best this year!

I prefer UK XF. Only because it's got more personality and vibe to it. USA is all about the vocals- but it's very serious.

God, the UK version. That Thanksgiving episode in America was the last straw for me.

My favourites from either show are Kitty, Sophie, Little Mix and Janet. My worst from either show are Frankie, Josh, Astro and Misha.

Initially, the US version trumped ours but now it's just terrible. The UK version is far superior , as the Thanksgiving episode of the US version proved.

The US version is miles better this year, the standard is in a different league.

Melanie Amaro is the strongest out of the current list of acts, US & UK.

Have to say I do prefer the American version, even though I religiously watch both! I LOVE Melanie Amaro and Drew.

Before the USXF lives actually started I thought it was going to be great, but it really has been a damp squib imo. I think it's suffered mainly from poor song choices, boring judges and perhaps most evidently of all, Steve Jones' disastrous presenting. The thanksgiving show was the cheesiest and most embarrassing piece of television I have ever sat through.

Josh and Melanie were the top 2 for me, although Melanie really did put me off her with her god stuff and slightly psychotic outburst after she performed last week. I now want Josh to win, even though I can't stand his mentor.

Also is it just me or is the boys category in USXF utterly terrible?

Now that Janet's gone, the UK show is pretty uninteresting.

US still has Drew, Melanie, and Josh.

That's the problem with these shows. People in the US would rank almost all of the UK contestants below the US, and people in the UK would rank almost all of the UK contestants above hte US ones. Little Mix would be #1 in the UK rankings, but given that the US don't like those sort of urban groups they'd be like 24th out of 24 in the US Rankings. That's why UK music finds it hard to succeed in the US.

I voted USA because although I prefer the UK one in general, my top three are all from the US version - Astro, Chris Rene and Rachel Crow.

I do watch both though
