Because I fail to see it, or hear it. He was abysmal last night.

I don't hate the guy at all but he was never the best singer on the XFactor and yet he is some sort of luvvy who appears on several TV shows. I am curious as to how he is supposedly so popular too.

Singing is not his strong point. No doubt Simon is using as he always does the chanmce to milk as much as he can from his previous X-Factor Acts

What does it mean when people quote a post and write 'this'? (Genuine question, I've seen it a lot on here)

Agree with the replies btw.

It just means 'I agree with this post'.

& as for your original question, I'd say that Olly's appeal lies in his mediocrity. He's just a 'cheeky chappie'/everyman figure who likes playing football with his mates and doing other quintessentially 'lad' stuff. People like him because he's nothing special, IMO.

It mean that the poster that types 'this' agrees with the posters comments, it means the same as if you were typing ditto.

So basically the poster can't be bothered to type out their own answers, i do it all the time!

Wow, such a nice comment that is  Just because you don't like Olly, like MANY others do, doesn't mean you have to say things like that!

Olly is a very likeable guy and his music is catchy(to me anyway). I'm glad he's so successful!

He can entertain and perform, is a great singer and a really likeable guy. Don't understand why lots of people don't like him much actually.

Oh and the vast majority of the general public don't like hearing the truth.

He's Ok but he is the type of person who can get on ones nerves pretty quickly. With the Xtra Factor I suppose he is keeping his options open with regards to singing or presenting as a career.

Wish he'd do something about the moley mole on his face though. I find I am drawn to it in the same way as Austin Powers was....

So are a lot of DS posters, but I'd not complain about it.

I didn't enjoy Olly Murs' performance last night, but the guy's found a genre that's popular and brings in shitloads of money, so good luck to him if he wants to make it last as long as he can.

There is little point just slagging him off because YOU dont get it. All that does is demonstrate that you

1. are intolerant/on the wind up

2. dont understand the very basics of musical taste

I hate the foo fighters but i can appreciate that others may like them etc

Olly put on a great performance and is dong incredibly well for himself.

You will just have to deal with that and move on.

Basically "Our Olly Murs". Somewhat like Amelia. Though to be fair, Amelia is a lot more talented, even if she does shout a fair bit.

The public just like him because he's one of them I suppose. He's very ordinary. Also, the snowball effect of when most are say something's great, the mass sheep just follow suit.

Let me add, I never saw the series he was in. But haven't been impressed by his singing ability at all and never got what all the fuss was about. Very mediocre, to say the least.
